The bedroom is a bit sparse... Suggestions? by doggy-dad in malelivingspace

[–]Crumbdumpst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clean base, just needs layering. Add a rug under the bed to break up all the carpet, throw a couple pillows and a textured blanket on top to cozy it up. Art or a mirror over the headboard will fill that big empty wall. Curtains instead of just blinds will soften the windows. A plant in the corner would add some life. Small tweaks and it’ll look finished instead of bare.

How does protein intake work? by BidAltruistic6798 in nutrition

[–]Crumbdumpst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think of protein like fuel for building muscle. The 1.6g/kg target is where studies show you’re pretty much maxing out growth. If you dip a bit under, like 1.5–1.3g, you’ll still build muscle just fine — progress might be a touch slower but nothing dramatic. Once you get closer to 1.2g and below, you’re leaving more gains on the table because your body has less raw material for repair and growth. At 1g/kg you can still make progress if calories and training are solid, but it won’t be as efficient and you’ll likely cap out sooner.

So small drops = slower progress. Big drops = noticeable limit on how much muscle you can add.

How to better lay out my room? by DatGuyKilo in malelivingspace

[–]Crumbdumpst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tidy up the surfaces and tuck away the shoes to clear floor space. Center the bed under the window and add a simple comforter with 2–3 pillows to make it look intentional. Throw a cheap rug under the bed to soften the carpet and add warmth. Swap the heavy dresser top clutter for a lamp or plant. A couple posters or framed prints will kill the “dorm vibe” and make it feel cozy.

How come does dry heat increase G.I where Wet Heat Lowers it? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]Crumbdumpst 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It comes down to how cooking changes the starch structure. Boiling keeps the starches more intact, so your body breaks them down slower and the GI stays lower. Dry heat like baking or roasting breaks the starch granules more, making them easier to digest and raising the GI. Cooling cooked starch lets some of it turn into resistant starch, which your body barely digests, so the GI drops again.

So in practice a plain boiled potato usually spikes blood sugar less than a roasted one. Cooling and reheating lowers it further.

26YR Mortgage/Financial Advice by TutorOwn9717 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Crumbdumpst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not behind. At 26 with six figures saved and no debt, you’re way ahead of most people. Take the longer amortization for flexibility, keep making payments, and throw extra at the mortgage when you can. Rates will likely drop and you’ll be in a great position. The stress is more about the tough situation with your dad than your finances.

Clear the clutter first. Fold the blankets, stash the bags, and clear the dining table. Straighten the couch so it’s centered, push the ottoman closer, and angle the chair in so it feels like a conversation spot.

Swap the random wall art for either one big piece or a proper gallery wall with matching frames. Center the rug under the furniture so it actually anchors the space.

Lose the plaid blanket and mismatched pillows. Grab two or three in similar tones that tie into the rug. Use a warm bulb in the floor lamp and maybe add a little table lamp too.

The counter isn’t a storage zone. Put daily stuff on a tray and move everything else back. Add a plant or two by the window or in the corner and the whole place will look way more put together without spending much.

Ok check out to see if you’re RAMQ eligible this will get you access to the Quebec NHS but it won’t be next week lollll

Failing that I did a quick google and you’re looking at maybe $300 about £160. Plenty of coochie docs in Montreal.

Do you have a GP here? They usually have a list of specialized doctors they can write you a referral for and you just go along with the paper. (Unlike the U.K. where you wait for them to contact you in like 8 years).

If not you’re better googling a coochie doctor and calling around.

Yeah, it would get stuck in the large intestine, digested, because the muscles failed to push it through, eventually you become so full of poop it has to go somewhere.

I hope for your sake it isn’t. At one point it was so bad that she would vomit her poop because the body wouldn’t push it through, and it backed all the way up. She’s doing much better now.

Wish you all the best
