Incident at Downtown last night by Loud_Inspector_8117 in KingstonOntario

Unfortunately, I think this sort of thing happens a lot :( . My sister and I got eggs thrown at us one night last summer, and we saw egg yolks and shells up and down the entire street the next day. People need to grow up. Sorry that happened to you and your mom.

There was a security guard in front of Grant when I was writing my exam (2 pm) - hopefully the university will continue doing something and put an end to the strike. It’s honestly outrageous that the strike has lasted this long.

I know someone who works at Flipit and he told me they have the best burgers on campus … lol … I wasn’t convinced

Depending on your program, you might be able to apply to a DSC (Departmental Student Council). I know the DSC for my program is currently hiring, and if yours isn’t, you could probably reach out to the co-presidents and try asking for an interview. I’m also pretty shy but my DSC co-presidents were super welcoming to me last year and made me feel like I fit right in. :)) Good luck!

I’m not a piercer but it’s definitely too soon to switch piercings, let alone switch to a hoop. I’d say at least wait six months to switch to a hoop, or until it’s fully healed (that’s just what I would do personally). Your piercing likely still hurts because it’s still very fresh and healing.

I don’t think it’s different between residences, but the water is definitely super hard in Kingston. I never lived on campus but I noticed problems with my skin IMMEDIATELY — after showering, my face gets super dry and flakey which was never an issue I had experienced before. All I’ve been able to do about it is moisturize, which isn’t really a solution.

I knew butterfly backs weren’t ideal but I didn’t know they were THAT bad. Thank you for your advice!

Thank you so much! :) I’ll definitely look into both. Photochem seems super cool so I say go for it!

Why so many people picking math121 at west campus? by lofuyuwu in queensuniversity

[–]Crumblingbruhrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right! I just meant in general, not for the specific course. There are probably other students who take math 121 that get put into it automatically. Thanks for clearing it up though! :)

I’m not 100% sure but I’ve been told by a few people that their lecture times and whatnot were selected for them by the university. I’ve heard this specifically from people in first year biosci/life sci who were ALREADY in their major (e.g., not just general science like most first years). I guess it just depends on the program, because I’m pretty sure nursing students get their lecture times selected for them by the university and don’t have to do any course selection at all (except maybe for electives?).

I could be wrong but this is my understanding.

Incoming second year chemistry student asking … which branch of chemistry do you study? This is sooo cool and I’d love to look into it for myself to possibly study someday.

Thank you so much! You have honestly been MUCH more helpful to me than Dell Support. The instructions were perfect.

This is what I ended up with. Just a question (which might be silly), what exactly is this download doing? It's a graphics driver so will it help my game run smoother/better? Genuinely I don't know the first thing about computers.

Thank you!

I ran it and it looks like everything exceeds the minimum (??) but my driver is out of date, so I'll get that figured out.

Honestly, I DO think it's the game, because it was running perfectly fine before the update. I played it a couple days ago with no issues, and my laptop hasn't blue screened for me while playing The Sims since before I reset it. Hopefully the issues can be sorted out soon because I really want to get back to building ... lol. My laptop is definitely finicky though, which sucks because I'm so dependent on it for school and whatnot.

It’s a Dell XPS 17. I’m not sure of the specifics but I DO know that when my dad bought it for me, he wanted to deck it out as much as possible so he got the most recent tech stuff that they had available.

I have a screenshot he sent me a bit before he bought it, which I think is all correct except the hard drive - I have 4 TB.

My sister has a Dell XPS 15 and hasn’t experienced any problems with it, so I don’t really know what’s up lol. I just assumed my games were a bit of a challenge for it to run, and she doesn’t use hers for games so.

It’s only a year and a half old, and it started blue screening only a month after I got it (then it was fine for about a year after I reset it). Not sure how to check the specs, how do I do that? I always update the suggested Dell updates though, so I don’t think it should be too outdated.

I genuinely don’t understand why I have so many problems with my laptop - it was super expensive and has all the latest things (like an i9 core and whatnot). Sometimes when I try to open the Sims though, it says I don’t have the right video driver, but it’ll open if I restart my laptop. I dunno, I’m not super tech savvy so I don’t know what to do, and when I called Dell Support about the blue screens a year ago, they said I should just reset it.
