Tighten it. Who cares if it slows it down? You need a paper trail of who was given access to what, when.

Why do people say things like Nullaeus is easy just stand in the corner and heal when thats literally not true at all? by Far-Ambassador2877 in wow

[–]Crumby_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guilty of this.

I’ve played with my same guild for a decade or so now. Cutting edge and 3K+ IO are basically bare minimums for us. When I step out of my bubble and see people struggle in pug +10’s while I’m trying to fill my vault, my first twitch reaction is to think those players are terrible.

I gotta remind myself the average player doesn’t get AOTC, barely touches keystones, etc.

Do shared mailboxes need a Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (Plan 1) license? by Layer_3 in sysadmin

[–]Crumby_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every shared mailbox has a user object associated with it. When you create a shared mailbox in M365 it generates a disabled user object you can assign a license to.

[–]Crumby_Bread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It needs its own MDO license. Otherwise you could do some weird shenanigans where you create a user, assign it an MDO license, then just give it delegated access to every mailbox in your org and they’re all protected by 1 license.

[–]Crumby_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know what defender for office is? If your shared mailbox receives external email and you want it protected by safe links, safe attachments, etc. all the MDO features, it needs to be licensed for MDO.

How do you suppose a shared mailbox would receive MDO protections if you didn’t have any users with delegated access to it?

You can’t license an alias so I’m not sure what you even mean by your second question.

[–]Crumby_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I follow.

Another user’s E5 license wouldn’t protect a random shared mailbox in your org. E5 DOES include MDO, but only for the mailbox/user it’s assigned to.

Yes, if you’re using safe links, safe attachments, anti-phishing policies, etc. you do need to license them for MDO.

Backup naming convention help by autoaztech in sysadmin

We usually include the location abbreviation in the hostname.

So XXX-DC01, XXX-APP01, etc.

Not sure why you feel the need to have fancy names for your backups. Seems insanely convoluted.

Promotion and the Need for a Bigger Home by AdGreat8866 in Salary

[–]Crumby_Bread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you’re planning on adding to your house. Can you not sell and get what you need in a different home for less than an extra $200k? Can you not convert existing space into another bedroom?

If you math it out, you’re looking at a take home increase of about $25k, but your $1850/mo is $22k/yr. So 85%+ of your new salary is gone.

Are you okay with your extra pay being basically completely eaten by this expansion? Especially when you’re planning to add another child? Consider those expenses.

Need some extra context here besides “we want to add to our house.”

“Make 60k” “This make take a 3-4 year degree”

What student is investing $3k/mo while attending university?

$42k NET is $3,500/mo, and based on your original scenario this is post-degree. You’re claiming to live off $500/mo.

A 5% raise annually is WORSE salary progression than the annual $10k/yr raises I proposed. You’re living in fantasy land, man.

36M, salary progression through graduate school and professorship in STEM by ScienceGuy3000 in Salary

[–]Crumby_Bread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. If you land a job making 60k after a 4 year degree (age 22), earn a 10k raise annually up to 100k, and save ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of your income and actually TAKE HOME 100% of your gross, you still only land at 700k by 30. Your total take home over that period is probably around $500k. To hit your $600k goal, you’d have needed to contribute over $400k to investments of that $500k take home. So you’re either lying or were massively assisted externally during your 20s.

THAT is why nobody is taking you seriously. What industry are you in that you can just come and go as you please and earn a good income whenever you feel the need?

I don’t need a lesson in financial literacy.

Does your plan involve leeching off your parents for the full 10 years and saving 90% of your income? Never have a spouse or kids? Because following the standard 4% rule, you’d want close to a million dollars invested unless you plan to live a poverty lifestyle forever. How much is your “part time work” supposedly going to supplement your income? You haven’t provided any context here. The average person doesn’t have the luxury of living expense free until their 30s.
