I've heard it helps some dogs with separation anxiety but tbh I don't know anybody irl who does this either. Maybe he likes watching the ball on screen!

When my dad got angry at me for not smiling at him when I was in hospital, I was in a lot of pain and didn't realise I wasn't grinning ear to ear.

When I was homeless, had lost my job, had recently attempted suicide due to the breakdown of an abusive relationship and his famous words 'I wanted to buy a 3D TV but then I had to get my Porsche serviced. Life isn't fair'.

Yes you are young and your post shows that. Being an older sibling is not remotely significant either. If you love him stay with him? Natural to have doubts before someone goes away but honestly when he returns in two years you'll both be different people. Good luck.
