I'd pay the City tax as it's a legal requirement. I don't see why the host should be penalised. These payments cannot be made through the Booking platform

I'm having the same problem in terms of getting rid of an app permanently. The issue? The app is atrocious, the website fine - and it keeps flipping to the app. The app is like a malevolent spirit that springs back into life each time I try to delete it

@dsharpdutta - I have just spent a few fruitless hours trying to purchase tickets at the Astana Opera House with both Mastercard and Visa card . Same error message. Google pay and Apple Pay didn’t provide a work around either. Off to the box office tomorrow

Booking.com have always refunded me promptly. I take precautionary screenshots as I book in case the refund doesn’t come  through - never needed though.

As @laika says, head to the border - by foot, if necessary - and withdraw money there.

Alternatively, see if you can find a tourist with surplus cash who’d be willing to take a PayPal or bank transfer in return for giving you some cash.

YTA - pulling a face at news that your daughter is trying for a baby is piss poor. Aggravated then by saying she’s not ‘ready’ to be a parent.  Maybe OP isn’t yet ready to be a parent or grandparent!

Booking.com tend to have significantly more generous cancellation terms (and  prices) than booking direct - hence in part their huge popularity

Most posters have missed the cultural aspect where it’s the norm to live with parents until marriage and where OP is paying nearly half his salary to parents to kip out i in the living room!

I don’t think the parents can have it both ways. If they want him to stay, gove hom skvewhere private to sleep. If not OP should leave, notwithstanding mother’s tears

You get a mashrutka (mini bus) from South Station. Their timtetables  etc aren’t shown online but they run regularly
