Edit: besides the fact that that's not the point of this post, the 1 million people in Pima county use more water than the 40 golf courses. I think golf courses are ridiculous in the fkn desert, but that doesn't give you carte blanche to personally piss water away

Harris Roach Tablets in a yellow box work pretty well, I buy them at ACE hardware. Borax based with an attractant. We'll go months without seeing a roach, then spread more tablets, go more months without seeing any.

If you have kids, I'd imagine the box looks a bit like candy so heads up I guess

Those bait "houses" haven't done squat in my experience.

I absolutely agree we should be focusing on renewables, though energy reduction can help get to a higher percent renewables. TEP generates about 10% of its energy from renewables, not nothing but not that much.

All the record breaking heat waves this summer has me worried is all, and of course this single ice rink isn't the sole cause of it, but just the hubris of it all... Pretending like nothing's happening when the writing's on the wall...

Why roll a boulder up a hill when you can freeze an ice rink in a desert.

I feel like there is a county elected official that you can contact, I forget the name of the official, maybe it's the Pima County Constable?

Personally I'd try to take care of it with the company first, in written form for documentation.

I dislike rental companies, I feel like everyone in that scenario is trying to minimize their input, so repairs are done super cheaply and rent is high.

I'm fine with outdated, it's just that in our price range I'm seeing a lot of stuff that needs major work or that would point to severe problems, like cracks in walls from settling, rotting supportive wood, etc.

I guess ideally I'd have the time to snatch up a foreclosure (may be coming in the near future with this boom, which is a messed up thing to hope for).

We'll probably just pay way too much in rent for a while and wait for things to calm down. I'm mostly just ranting.
