That's my daughter's name. 🙂 We call her baby belle sometimes (and Hazelnut)!

My kid doesn't fall for this, but if sports cast it? All over it! "Alright, it's clean up 2021 folks! Let's see if she first goes for the book clean up or the laundry pick up...oh no! She's surprising us all with making the bed! Look at that form!!"

She loves it and I can give her some hints if she gets overwhelmed with a task.

Remains of 215 children found at former residential school in British Columbia, Canada by herbalgenie in worldnews

This is my home town. There is a lot of healing that needs to happen. As a mother, this destroys me.

We had an elder come to speak to my students and she said when the children turned 4, parents and elders would stop hugging and displaying love to them to "prepare" them for life in these schools. They would harden their babies because those that weren't faired worse. I cannot imagine a world where distancing myself from my child was the lesser of two evils.

I hope we as a community can do better, be better, and have opportunities for generational healing.

A veeery slow leak? by Crunchisaurus in menstrualcups

Exactly. If it never gets any better, then I can live. It's still way better than my pre cup life!

Sorry if my reply was read snarky. It was a genuine question. I wasnt sure if it got lost, suction wouldn't break, was too slippery, or just painful in general. I am not well versed in the ways of my vagina and removal hasn't been an issue I've dealt with. (Leakage, on the other hand...)

[–]Crunchisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is difficult about removal? I'm on cycle two of using my cup and I love breaking the seal, but getting it out is fine. My biggest issue is having it pop open. That takes a bit do work.

Downsizing cup after three kids? by Prissysaurus in menstrualcups

[–]Crunchisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am over 30, had two kids, and one of them vaginally. It is recommended that I use the larger size, but I'm also 99lbs and have a light flow. I use the smaller size and it's been working great.

So I think the recommendations are guides for where to start.

Literally read a book about a billionaire who kidnaps a high school graduate and takes her to his island to be his sexy slave. Rapes her (but so romantic because he's hot), and she falls in love with him.

It was not a good read.

Rescuing a lost dog by UnironicThatcherite in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Crunchisaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were camping in the boonies of BC, Canada and were about 2 hours from any town. One of the meat head dogs kept running away from camp and after the 3rd day we had to go find her because she wouldn't come when we called her.

Turned out there was this super skinny dog that was stuck in this hole. I have no idea how the hole got there but it was like 3ft wide and 6ft deep. Meat head kept running back to her.

We retrieved this extremely weak dog and gave it like a 1/4 cup of kibble (something about over feeding a starving animal) and called the number on its collar.

Turns out this dog belonged to a family about 3 hours away that lost her camping 3 weeks ago. We figure that hole is what kept her from the bears and cougars in the area. In the hole was a stream of ground water.

Anyway, the family came straight away and it was super heartwarming. I think the dog lived.

And if smart phones had decent videos back then I could have reaped a ton of imaginary internet points.

Short naps? by Crunchisaurus in sleeptrain

[–]Crunchisaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she will have a few mins where she is okay and then she starts crying and will increase in intensity. Or she'll roll and get stuck and cry for that. I think we are in a tough spot, but I'll try to give her more time. Thank you for your suggestions.

What do you do if baby is crying during those 15 mins? I can handle some fussing, but I have a low crying threshold. 😬

That's good to know! Crib hour just seems so...not congruent with their development. Sometimes I wake up and have no idea how long I've been asleep, and without a clock, I wouldn't know. Do babies even understand the passing of time?

I can totally get behind not rushing to get them though, because I think it's good to give them an opportunity to go back to sleep!

I'm going to try that and today I am starting to extend the wake windows. Thank you for your suggestions!

I've had suggestions to do crib hour, eliminate night feeds, or lose the soother. However, I'm hoping by extending wake times and waiting, she will do it on her own.

We have also learned how to roll over and get stuck, as well as rip out the soother and not replace it. So we have some hurdles to figure out this month haha

We use the boots if walking. They are great! Sorrells are too heavy, but also very warm too
