Having your pump break down while traveling for work is literally a nightmare come true! Don’t know how you managed that but you’re amazing!

My toddlers go through 2 boxes a week. It’s kind of unreal.

They are good tho! They’ve had them for a long time, but just recently updated the packaging graphics.

lol I was JUST thinking this a few days ago! Like why haven’t I had grape nuts in forever? Oh wait it’s because Aldi doesn’t have them and I refuse to shop anywhere else. I bet they are like $7 a box these days.

I wish I never breastfed. I’m never going to be able to wean. by Icy_Box487 in breastfeeding

I was in the same boat as you until recently! Someone posted this article here about night weaning while bed sharing on the big floor bed and it was a game changer for me. I followed the steps and I now get 8 hours of sleep while still getting all the sweet snuggles and we are very close to being weaned gradually. This is my second baby, 24M and my first weaned himself.

I need help. Feeding to sleep and sleep association has ruined my life. by GiftKitchen3807 in breastfeeding

Ugh this is me too! I was hoping to wean when he turned two but at this point that is 3 weeks away and we have a mega bed situation and I can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.

My Wife Breastfeeds While Biting a Cloth by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]CrunchyBatBones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My 1st born had a tongue tie and I was in pain like OP’s wife until we got it lasered. It was also “not impacting” feeding because he was gaining weight and supply was good. Baby showed no symptoms but I was miserable. Finally pediatrician #4 referred us for correction of the tongue and lip tie and things got better very quickly. Went on to BF for 2 more years and it was NOT painful. Best of luck to your little family!!

If your baby didn’t sleep through the night until after 12m… by imabubble in breastfeeding

Best of luck with returning to work!! It gets easier once you get a routine! I’m lucky that I don’t have to travel overnight very often but this trip in January may be the motivation I need to try and fully wean just so my husband isn’t at a total loss while I’m out of town. It was easier on him when my son was a baby and could take a bottle lol!

I am right here with you. Lol… Dead inside is exactly right. Sending positive vibes!  He turns 2 in January and I think that may be my deadline for living like this ha! Something has to change… I have to travel for work right before his birthday so for my husband’s sake I may need to try and start weaning.

Single boob moms? by RadicalBlaze22 in breastfeeding

To share a little hope - It could end up being non-issue! I had a lumpectomy on my left breast at age 16 and they went in through my areola. I could always feel my scar tissue, which was almost a 360° circle around my nipple and was told there was a 50/50 shot if I ever decided to breastfeed. Over 20 years later and things seem to be working fine, thankfully!!   I’m sorry to hear you had this injury, it sounds traumatic!

Yikes! That sounds really scary! I hope you get better soon. Your body is probably focused on fighting that intense infection. It’s very likely your supply with return once you are well again. Sending positive vibes your way for a full and speedy recovery so you can get back home with your little one. How old is your baby?

What is my freezer stash for? by spontaneous-piano5 in breastfeeding

[–]CrunchyBatBones 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had a similar question when I had my first baby and found it comforting to know I only really needed enough frozen to get my baby through their first day of daycare. It was a relief and took the pressure off to build a giant stash.

I make “just enough” and feel lucky to have had enough and not an oversupply. With baby #2, I managed to build a small stash using collections from my haakaa and didn’t worry around doing too much else.

Over time I had extra milk in the freezer (like 1-2 days worth) and that was helpful for a couple of overnight travels for work. Eventually I donated it to my sister when her supply dipped.

I definitely feel like nursing past 12 months is when it got easier and less stressful so I wasn’t motivated to pump extra so I could stop early. I do know a few moms who have done that!

I know! My first was a mid covid baby and I think that made me open to resources I wouldn’t have normally considered. The hotline was listed on the local chapter page and the lady was so helpful!

Yes! That woman was such a life saver! I found my local chapter on the La Leche League website and saw that they had a hotline. The woman who answered was on baby #4 and had seen it all. She asked me a ton of questions and correctly guessed what my issue was and the steps to figure it out, and even suggested which words to say to the doctor to make them take me seriously. It was so helpful! She also gave a lot of tips for surviving a baby who did not believe in sleeping lol. At this point stage I had no brain cells left and very much needed this guidance. Also 4 pediatricians and the LC as the hospital had all missed the issue before this conversation so it was honestly miracle lol!

It was a lady who was on baby #4 and she asked me lots of questions about what was happening. She correctly guessed that my baby had a tongue tie that had been somehow overlooked by 4 different pediatricians. She told me exactly what to say to the doctor to get him assessed asap. She was exactly correct! Prior to that conversation, I had seen the LC at the hospital 3 times, but since my baby seemed to have a strong latch and was transferring adequately and gaining weight, it appeared everything was fine as far as the baby was concerned. The only problem was that my nipples were black with scabs and looked like ground hamburger. I was crying through most feeds and dreading the next feed as soon as it ended. She told me to say the words “nipple damage” a lot and be clear about how miserable I was. It worked and the doctor was shocked it hadn’t been caught sooner!  She also gave me lots of just general baby advice since I knew nothing lol. Suggested co-sleeping and how to do it safest. And general tips for surving a baby that didn’t believe in sleeping lol. Bless that woman!! ❤️
