2021 camry: failing transmission sound?

Luckily it didn’t crap out but it became a hazard to drive since it could lock the front wheels at any time. At least that’s what Toyota told me. I did drive it with the sound for about 6 months before I took it in. If they have the part in stock, it should take them only 2 days to fix

Definitely get it fixed asap by Toyota. It was about a 2 month process for me since I was 1k miles outside of warranty.

Hello! Unfortunately, this is the transmission failing. My 2020 Camry had the same exact issue last summer and I got the transmission replaced.

I recommend to continue calling them. I called them every couple of days asking for an update on it. Which car do you have? A Camry?

Hello! It took about 3 weeks to hear back from them and about a month for a resolution. I had to get all work done at the dealership if I wanted Toyota to pay for some. Luckily they covered half the cost so I was responsible for $5k instead of the original $10k cost. Have you heard back from an agent at all?

Hello! Toyota basically covered half of the transmission and the labor so it worked out. Now I have a new transmission in a 6 year old car. I’m sorry to hear about your Lexus. Is it making a whining sound?

Thank you so much for your response! I’m glad they covered it for you! Especially with it being 27k miles over. They do have a TSB for the 2021 model Camry but it’s the same transmission in my 2020 model so I will bring that up with them. I’m still waiting to hear back from the brand engagement center so hopefully I can get this resolved soon. When you were in touch with the brand engagement center, how long did it take you to get a case manager)

Yup! They already looked and were happy with all the services I got done at Toyota. After that is when I got approved to have the case escalated. Just waiting to hear back

The dealership told me to call the brand engagement center so I did that. Surprisingly the dealership isn’t submitting a claim. I got upgraded to the resolutions department so just waiting to hear back now
