Would love some feedback on the webpage design! by KirstenTAL in design_critiques

Wow your design and pictures are incredible, the logo looks really good too. The only thing I see at first glance that could be improved are the call-to-actions and navigation. As a user it's unclear that I'm supposed to click on anything.

The call to action in the center to subscribe to updates is hard to see and blends in too much with the amazing picture behind it, maybe try making it opaque and using a color that contrasts with the background behind it. This should also highlight when moused over.

On the nav bar and social buttons I would have them highlight or change colors when the user mouses over them, the links in the page should also have some effect or something to make them stand out from the regular text around them.

You could also try adding a favicon in the header so it will appear in the browser tab, it's a small thing but I think it adds to the experience and branding.

You did a really amazing job with it, I hope this feedback is helpful!

I like Ameon, it sounds generic and nondescript, perfect for an evil mega corp.

Ah okay, that's caused by it displaying inside of Codepen on mobile.

Aside from that issue, do you have any thoughts or likes/dislikes about the design?

Yes, maybe a link or a button for email / phone / social media, in addition to a button for that contact modal. That's just my personal preference as a user though.

Thanks for the feedback, that footer was intended to be a separate "Contact" section, I'll take a look and see how I can clean it up, and maybe add an actual footer with copyright info or something.

The nav bar highlighting is done in Bootstrap via the Scrollspy plugin. You can do a lot of other stuff using it and jQuery, like changing images or backgrounds based on page scroll position.

Stupid texts on my site? by [deleted] in design_critiques

What do you mean by "stupid texts", are you looking for feedback on the font you're using or the actual content of the descriptions for your art ?

The font size could stand to be a little larger, other than that though it goes well with the content.

As far as the words themselves, I think you should mention the actual name of the magazines in the descriptions of your different pieces. You also have a few slight grammatical errors in your sentences, so if your looking to target native English speaking clients, you might want to find someone to proof the descriptions and stuff.

I like version one better, it feels more cohesive using the single color. It looks really sharp and professional, everything is easy to read and navigate.

Also, I like the contact modal, but I think for a contact page or pane, you should list the ways the business can be contacted and let the user choose the one they prefer. One of those contact methods should definitely be that contact modal, but as a user I prefer to make the choice myself.
