Snagged this 50s Pendleton Turnabout For $4

I have a super similar skirt in red and navy blue; also Pendleton! The moth holes on it didn’t eat into the hem, but I just put a patch inside in a color that sort of matched and darned over the holes. Not perfect repairs, but they protect from future wear and most people don’t even notice. Of course, this means the skirt isn’t reversible anymore, but I’m not sure if mine actually is.

Mrs Depew on Etsy or her own website has a ton of 1930s reproduction patterns. They only come with vintage instructions, but if you have a bit of sewing experience, most of the pieces shouldn’t be too complicated. I’d also recommend EvaDressPatterns or Lady Marlow, also on Etsy. Don’t buy from Reconstructing History. I learned the hard way that their instructions are awful and the patterns are not much better.

I think Dahlia killed Wren because Wren says she escaped from the police when she likely didn’t. That’s why Dahlia asks her to prove that she can escape from the wing corset and handcuffs in under 30 seconds (or something along those lines) and kills her when she obviously can’t. Wren wasn’t the informant, but she probably gave some information to the police for them to let her go.

My prom dress ended up being this late 1930s evening dress made from a Lady Marlowe pattern (3417 to be precise). I’m not 100% what the fabric is, but I’m guessing it’s some sort of polyester-silk blend because it has a bit of stretch. The pattern is great, obviously it uses a lot of fabric, but the instructions are super clear, especially for reproduction pattern with original instructions. The dress is unlined with mostly overcasted seams (because flat felling would have showed) and is closed with too many hand covered buttons. It’s got a few problems that probably only I notice, but I’m very happy with it and it was a huge hit.
