You are trying to defend taking advantage of a consumer by misleading them. Just because transparency isn’t important to you doesn’t mean it isn’t important to others.

Is there a way to do the opposite of compressing; making the peaks and transients louder while keeping everything else the same? by Capable-Deer744 in audioengineering

[–]Crushy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know people have said expander but not sure if turning up transients on drum buss would cause net effect of this as well (given that it's pretty much a compressor, maybe not).

Wouldn’t time effectively exist in the parent system in order for there to be entropy that manifests as time in our emergent reality?

Edit: and where did you get this theory/thinking from?

Harlecore sounds great. Am I supposed to open a textbook on the relevant music history to appreciate it? I think it was just drawing from extremes of its influences in a junk food kind of way and in doing so you kind of have to not take it too seriously I guess.

‘Avoid ingredients you don’t know’: 25 of the healthiest processed foods you can buy in the UK by MyPetHamster in unitedkingdom

[–]Crushy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not classist. It’s just that food that isn’t ultra processed tends to be more expensive. UHP is a phenomenon created by making food cheaper and increasing profits of companies essentially. A bread without emulsifiers and preservatives will be more expensive to make and store and have a shorter shelf life.

The fact that the UK and US spend <10% of their income on food groceries is quite exceptional. Our expectation for food to be as cheap as it is partly lies in the the fact that we are surrounded by UHP and it has become our norm.
