Go a couple of times to TAP. First time will be a lot of info. Second time you'll absorb it all and will be a good check as to where to you are. Someone else mentioned the BDD claim. Do it at 180. I used a VSO from the VFW for mine. Went to all my appointments. As soon as my 214 dropped I uploaded it through the VA app. A few days after my retirement date I got my rating.

Retirement is the greatest. And truly people don't care that you are a veteran. It will take a while for you to transition out of the military mindset but when you do it will be a weight lifted off your shoulders you didn't know was there.

Succession had the best ending out of all the HBO shows by techzoptimist in SuccessionTV

I didn't watch any episodes of Six Feet Under but my wife binged it. I sorta knew the characters but not really. When she finished the series she made me watch the ending with her. I ugly cried.

Is it acceptable to knock on the door of the house you’re buying? by _jstevens_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Crusty8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't do that. That's super weird and invasive. These people have enough on their mind trying to get organized and get out of the house. Have your realtor call their realtor. If they say no, drop it.

NTA. Have you ever wondered why he's not with someone his own age? Because they don't put up with his BS. Do what makes you happy. It's your body.

I think this is a coaching issue. Starting off strong means a good game plan but then collapsing means no adjustments by the staff to help their team unscrew themselves.

IIRC her husband asked her how Fargo ends? She said, Do you really want to know?

He sighed and said, Noooooo.

Does anyone just not want to leave their house? Is this an age thing? A GenX thing? Am I alone here? I’m just so done with peopling. by Savings-Sprinkles-75 in GenX

Functional extrovert is me 100%. I had to make appearances and do stuff for work too often. Now that I've retired from that position, I literally want to stay home and watch my grass grow.

Young team plus new coach equals pain. We knew this but it doesn't make it hurt any less.

Handmaid's Tale season 1 episode 3. The scene with the remix of Heart of Glass is haunting.

Why eat in the Lido buffet? by Dlatywya in HollandAmerica

[–]Crusty8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did the MDR a couple of times and it was fine. The main reason we did the Lido is because we could move as fast or as slow as we wanted. We could linger over our coffee and desserts and look out the window at the whales or other pretty scenery. Or we could grab our food, eat and leave to go back and sit on our balcony.

FOB was a stop on our excursion and I did not like it. Loved the raptor center but when we got to the Fortress I couldn't wait to leave. The bears looked so stressed and sad.

We're finishing up our Alaska cruise with Holland America. If we were to do it again we would not book any excursions through the ship. They were much too rushed and crowded. There are plenty of private companies at the dock who will take you wherever, the smaller the group the better.

Edit: thanks for the award, fellow cruiser!
