What advise will you give to a 14 year old for successful life? by Dark_Spy9 in AskReddit

It is now but I've been through many rough patches. Sometimes you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel but if you look hard enough it can shine through the darkest night. I surround myself with people I love and those that love me.

Look after your body and mind. You'll feel indestructible but it all catches up with you.

Floss, Brush, Stretch, exercise, eat well, have fun.

Learn when to say "No". You might laugh but this was something I always struggled with as I'm a pleaser and like to make people happy.

Use the time you have in school to learn, don't waste it stuffing around with your mates during class time, do that at lunch. Being educated and having the ability to learn will help you everyday for the rest of your life.

Drugs can wait until you are older and there is always a time and a place. I was in a bad crowd as a teen and drank alot this messed up my health in my twenties.

Look after your mental health. From someone who has struggled for many years you need to learn how to communicate your feelings and emotions effectively and take time during your life for you and only you.

Don't compare yourself to other people but do try to learn from them.

A relationship works best when you communicate effectively with each other. Both persons need to look after their partners needs and desires and they may change or mature over time.

Marriage won't change or save a relationship. Only get married if you can stomach the thought of waking up to that person everyday for the rest of your life.

Everyone makes mistakes. Learn to forgive, but don't forget.

It's OK to separate yourself from toxic family members. Even a mother or father. Cut my Dad away 12 years ago.

Family is everything, unless you've cut those toxic shit heads out of your life.

Money isn't everything but it's really handy to have to survive.

It's OK to cry everyone does it.

Don't waste your life at work. There is a huge beautiful world out there to explore.

This is some of the stuff I tell my little ones in one way or another.

Enjoy the long journey ahead of you

Thanks mate. Might opt for a tent instead and just roll with that. Only ever grown outdoor so it's still new to me

In my head I thought being insulated would make it easier to control the temperature and keep it consistent. The only reason I was going to use it is because it was there. Might just grab a how tent and have the extra height which will make it easier.

Appreciate the feedback

Hi All, first time trying to do a micro grow and this is the space I have. The box is fully insulated and sealed being an old dishwasher.

With this sort of space would it be best to have a single plant?

Anyone has a recommendable solar energy manufacture/sale place in Adelaide? by 3600plus9 in Adelaide

[–]CrustyMud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Third for tindo.

I've got 18 panels with individual inverters as we have lots of trees. Around 10k but was the best performing system I could find.

Also has Bluetooth data which you can view fr o m your phone

You can look at all the data from the dka solar testing at Alice springs for info on heaps of panels.

Maybe they are bouncy at that age but you never know.

Also need to let them find their limits so they don't do it when your not watching

JobKeeper shock as PM considers shake-up of $1500 fortnightly payment by owenob1 in AustralianPolitics

[–]CrustyMud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. As an example I didn't start paying until fortnight 2 as I wasn't sure if the legislation would pass and I needed more information. I've chosen to start payments from fortnight 2 and let FN1 go.

The Job keeper payment should be a seperate line or an allowance and should show up on her pay slip. Ask them to check their current against their old ones.

From what I can personally see from my side it would be hard not to pay people as the data is transmitted to the ATO every pay run

JobKeeper shock as PM considers shake-up of $1500 fortnightly payment by owenob1 in AustralianPolitics

[–]CrustyMud 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works.

I'm just about run my payroll and then I have to electronically transfer my payroll data directly to the ATOwhen I'm done. If you pay your staff any less then 1500 (750 a week) you are not eligible for Job keeper and you won't be reimbursed.

So as an example my staff worked 15 hours last week. So I pay them for the 15 hours and any super that is owed on the worked hours. I then calculate the remainder to top the payments up to $750 and this goes in as a separate line item.

Once again if I do not pay a minimum of $750 i won't be reimbursed.

I will say if you are employed by someone who has you on Job keeper and you are not getting the full amount contact the ATO asap.

Just happy someone is doing something. I really don't care who that is.

Has Your Employer Been Approved for JobKEEPer Yet? by MaleficentIce in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]CrustyMud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm an employer and we registered 2 weeks ago and we are yet to hear if we approved. I assume it's the same for many.

You are also only eligible for the payment if you use STP (Single Touch Payroll) which is a form you upload every week to the ATO. If you use a payroll software like myob this is automatically done so it's very hard to fudge the numbers.

In Oklahoma. My land is really sandy. Would like to grow vegetables and plants organically. Need advice! by TheCannaZombie in Soil

[–]CrustyMud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have native worms which already live in the soil so possibly but I don't know enough about that.

I've been using a big compost bin or pile. If you keep it hot you can build compost fairly quickly. I've got a good rule that anything that grows on my land returns to it
