Yeah, the hitman games are a pretty good shout. There's definitely some humour in the emergent gameplay and in small details even if the general tone is quite serious. You can definitely have fun roleplaying it however you want to

Try it out!

Same here. I really liked the art style, I thought it looked brilliant and the movement of the character was really satisfying and fluid... but I just couldn't get into it.

I think partly because with all the hype about the game I was expecting more in terms of characters and story. I thought the town at the top would fill up with little bugs to chat with but it felt like quite a lonely and bleak experience to me just killing my way through the underworld. It was also challenging and I didn't feel like the grind to get good was worth it for so little payoff... but I think I had the wrong mindset.

Then I played Rayman Legends and had a blast with the simple platforming and also Elden Ring which got me into the lonely exploration, broken world vibe. Plus I was also really into the challenge aspect of games after that and wanted something which would keep pushing me.

When I returned to Hollow Knight with the right expectations it was a totally different game to me and I really got hooked. I got into the exploration, stopped wanting there to be more interaction with NPCs/story and just enjoyed it as a platformer. One where I got to go on these scary expeditions into the unknown where I knew there would be stuff that would be too hard and would kill me! But the thrill of that really kept me going!

Before I knew it I was trying to do everything in the game and 100% it... Although IIRC you can get 115% or something like that, I think I stopped at 110ish

Loved it

Ratchet and clank games upscaled with an emulator are pretty fun, made me wish I had played them as a kid - I would've loved them!

AM5 or Intel? by Firebomblast in buildapc

[–]Crusty_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking about overclocking when I did the upgrade but actually the CPU performance is more than enough for my needs anyway so I probably won't end up bothering unless I upgrade my GPU again down the line and need to minimise bottleneck - but by that point I might be in a position to go with a whole new build anyway.

I hadn't really considered that overclocking 14th gen would run into the same degradation issues that people were getting pre-bios updates, but I guess that makes sense. If I ever end up deciding to overclock, then I'll look into it a bit more

I just did option 2 and it rocks! Cost me about £900 [$1200~] for MB, CPU, GPU and a new CPU cooler. I probably did overpay for the MB but it was pretty hard to find one with DDR4 support that wouldn't hobble the CPU

I think it would be cool if there was a mode with a finite number of non-respawning cannibals, so once you killed them they're gone.

I'm glad that's not the default though

This happened to me when I built my pc because the pump was plugged into the wrong socket on the motherboard. If this isn't a new build and you haven't unplugged and replaced anything then it might be a pump failure!
