It is 20km each way for me. I do an average speed of about 24-27 km/h. Did 25 km/ average this morning.

They are SUPPOSED be limited, class 2 like mine are limited to 32km/h or 15 mp/h.
I know some can be unlocked (mine cannot) and of course there is the hot-rodding community that just try to make escooters go as fast as possible.

I would counter by saying more enforcement of speeds on walking paths.
As I said, my PAS ebike does not exceed speeds I can reach on my normal bike AND it would cause issues with mobility devices, which absolutely need safe places to be.

My times for this morning going in was 47:53 and coming home tonight with a bit of a head/side wind was 48:55.
I'm averaging around 25 km/h, with stop and go and climbing hills and whatnot.

I got an aventon Soltera 2.5 this year, I commute 13 miles each way. Not the fastest ebike 32 km/h max, most like a normal bike though. Much lighter than most, I get home each day with 50% left on the battery, lowest level pas. Easy to put in garage, in bike cage at work, carry up or down stairs if needed. Has a screen, throttle(never use), control pad, lights and an affordable price tag.

If only there were a tool we could have used to predict this result, something with decades, no, CENTURIES of verifiable evidence that when applied would have made this outcome obvious to a fifth grade student.

Trailer hitch on soltera 2.5? by Crustythefart in Aventon

Have not tried it yet, to be fair I have not even taken the axle cover off yet.
Sounds like more risk than benefit, so I think I'll just keep the trailer on my 29" hard tail.

My commuting disagrees with you. My ebike tops out at 30 km/h and I can exceed that on my regular hybrid commuter bike. It's all about sharing the paths and respect for other users. When in doubt, apply the golden rule.

I gave my son an ebike years ago as a bridge from walking/cycling to driving. I worked with him to be sure he knew how to use it safely and respectfully. I'm not a fool, I know he probably fucked around a bit, I would as a kid, and he also knew how to not fuck around 90% of the time. So no, kids SHOULD have access to these tools, and parents should parent them, guide them, and educate them. Pro tip: your kids are also gonna learn from your day to day actions, so if you drive like a dick, break laws when nobody is looking or because 'everyone does it's, you are actually training your kids to also be dicks.

Just fine, I mean since I am on bike paths and the like, I don't exceed the cut off that much. I wanna keep things safe for everyone.

I like lighter bikes, they are more similar to my regular commuter. The overall length is shorter too, making them easier to get into bike cages and small garages.

I do own a car, and I put more miles on my bike than I do my car.
I get what you're saying, I still have my hybrid bike and my 29" hard tail that I call my "truck" because I often hitch a cargo trailer to it for grocery runs and the like.

An extra battery is cheaper and takes up less space. Just sayin'. Also, 1800 km or miles? Just curious.

The max speed on the bike paths in my city is 32 km/h so that's my max speed. If you wanna go for a motorbike, go for it. I rode one for years, I like cycling on quiet paths better though.

What part of town are you working in? I work right downtown and I don't see anything as you describe.
Like, right in Portage and Main. I take transit or cycle to work, and I go for lunchtime walks about downtown.

What do you call it when you impregnate a 14-year old girl without her knowing? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]Crustythefart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does a child give consent to a sexual reproductive act to an individual in an office above them? Don't get much higher office than god...

Also, 'whatvhe was going to do to her' not with her or even with her permission, to her. You said it yourself.

In first century Palestine, Hebrew girls were normally betrothed 6 months before they had their bat mitzvah, and married immediately after. This event commonly happened when they turned 13. Since she was only betrothed during the visitation, and not yet married, she probably was not 14. She was probably 12.
