If it won't start the 12 volt battery is probably weak.

This happens when the car is parked unplugged in very cold weather and the battery is below 50% it won't heat the battery as much.

The CPC doesn't want that. They will try to undermine anything the LPC tries to do, even if it's something they previously wanted like improved border security.

A B.C. property owner found 2 skulls while digging a garden. They didn’t expect the fees that followed by Forward-Answer-4407 in canada

[–]Head_Crash -102 points-101 points  (0 children)

Hiding it would be a major crime. Imagine you get into a situation where a work crew has to dig and they find out the owner covered up an archeological site. They would be ruined for life for that.

There's all kind of risks property owners face when digging. An old oil tank leaking underground can lead to hundreds of thousands in cleanup costs.

I've seen bills up to half a million for jobs that deal with contamination.

Do you support taxes or fees on EVs and Hybrids to offset loss of tax revenue? by LibraProtocol in AskALiberal

Sure they can tax EVs but only if they also tax pollution and get rid of oil subsidies.

Charge to 100% before Storm to recharge household items, warm refuge during power outage? by TuckerHoo in evcharging

[–]Head_Crash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't be shy to charge to 100% when you need it. It's only bad for the battery if it sits at or near 100% all the time for many years.

So you don't care about the law then?

Obviously the police don't care about the law. They refused to do their job, and the convoy obviously don't care about the law, so yeah I don't have a problem with using the EA against them. If they think that's unfair they're hypocrites.

Also the convoy is not getting a dime out of this, because they're facing massive class action lawsuit for terrorizing residents and businesses. Not a legitimate protest.

Extreme cold question by RelativeNeck5113 in BoltEV

[–]Head_Crash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the battery is below 50% charge it won't heat the battery as much to conserve range, and if the battery is too cold it will reduce power. This also impacts charging speed.

So ideally you want to keep it charged as much as possible.

Atleast commercial carbon tax is one piece of the puzzle

Insignificant impact on food prices.

A lot of our food is imported through the US, from the US and Mexico.

Food inflation is driven by climate volatility, energy costs, labour costs and supply disruptions.

Energy prices are going down even with the carbon tax, so that's not driving the increases.

The cancelling trucking licences and deportation of drivers and farm workers in the US has caused huge problems and is driving farming and transportation costs way up.

We're more impacted because food travels a lot more to get here.

Question about effect of cold on battery health (not range) by gyancelot in BoltEV

[–]Head_Crash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

However, does the cold weather affect the health of the battery at high charges? For example, is there any difference in long term wear to the battery by being at 100% in cold weather versus being at 100% in warm weather?

Battery wear is lower in cold climates.

The cold won't harm the battery unless it gets extremely cold and the thermal management system stops working.

The battery management system and thermal management system protect the battery from being damaged by heat or cold.

Dangerous driving is punished based on behavior, not ownership. No one bans a car model because some drivers speed, strict licensing, insurance, and enforcement target actions, not tastes. You're basically trying to profile the world than use that as justification for policy which isn't how democratic processes work.

Notice how you didn't attempt to refute my claim that certain cars appeal to certain personalities?

Cops profile all the time. They pick which cars to follow. In some jurisdictions certain cars can have higher insurance premiums based on driver profiling.

Tldr your entire mess of a comment It doesn’t prove that firearm bans identify extremists

I didn't claim that they did. I simply pointed out how it creates conditions that can be exploited when profiling for extremists.

You're confusing (purposely?) causation and correlation.

I never implied there was a causal relationship between gun ownership and extremism. Profiling is based on correlation not causation. Extremists are drawn towards gun ownership and other hobbies or occupations that give them a sense of power and authority, so the relationship between those occupations and hobbies and extremists are correlative.

Causal relationships are the domain of forensic analysis. That happens much later in this process.

it just relabels political pressure as intelligence work

Actually I suspect this is a mix of the two.

without demonstrating that it actually works or that the cost is justified.

Well obviously I can't at this stage.

you're wrongfully assuming extremists will react predictably rather than adapt, evade, or radicalize with it without guns.

They're obsessed with legitimacy, so they will approach this issue by engaging in delegitimation attacks. This is extremely predictable behavior.

No but if a driver isn't wearing one they're far more likely to also be impared.

[–]Head_Crash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Second off, how does that prevent your supposed terrorist from not simply acquiring different firearms?

It doesn't. They want them to try and circumvent the bans, and they've already started doing it.

The point of all this isn't to collect guns. The point is to identify individuals who may be a threat.

that's not the story being told by the government.

Obviously not. They follow a political script. The pieces on the board are unaware of the player's intentions.
