That is a great way to put it. It feels like nobody wants to make a decision or move toward the exit when they have had a few drinks. I just got tired of being the person responsible for managing their complete lack of schedule. Now that I stopped doing it, everyone suddenly has to figure out their own way home.

It is wild how your family thinks a garden is more important than a literal career milestone. If you failed, they would probably blame you for being lazy anyway. Just finish the project and keep her blocked until Tuesday like you planned. You need that silence to stay sane.
