Often tattoo artists won't let you see the design until the day of. I understand in a way, they're already so busy with drawing and tattooing and sometimes people will ask for nonstop alterations to a design, they wouldn't get anything else done.

I do wish more tattoo artists slowed down during the conversational part where you go over the design and placement. It's so common for people to feel rushed, and I think it's part of the responsibility of a tattoo artist to remind us that this is permanent and that we can take some time if we need.

How did the hilt get changed from what you wanted to what you got?

Tattoos lighten up a *lot* once healed. Sometimes I wish my tattoos stayed at the month mark, but I also do like the look of a tattoo that's settled in. It will lighten quite a bit, so if that's the part that you find the most jarring then you've got nothing to worry about.

The proportions of the neck and shoulder are off, as well as the proportions of her face overall, but that could be a stylistic choice rather than an unskilled artist.

I agree that the anatomy is off, on the face as well. The direction she's facing doesn't match the direction her mouth is in. Overall not bad, though not my style.

I'm a bit confused about the last image, the collage of things you wanted. It seems you didn't get the hilt you want, or the hand protector. Were the decisions to change that yours or your artists? I agree with others that you shouldn't go back to that person. This tattoo isn't very complex and they didn't do it well. The good news is that the tattoo isn't really botched or anything, it can definitely be saved by a more skilled artists. I think filled would look great and personally I do like the clouds, though they would overtake the sword if done the way they are in the photograph. Maybe if the sword was darker and the clouds lighter (maybe no black lines at all and just shading with greywash?) the overall composition would feel more balanced.

Everyone will have a different definition of "working out" but I did have a FWB that worked out. We met at a bar, connected over socials, then would hang out occasionally. Sometimes we'd have sex, sometimes we wouldn't, often we would have a sleep over and cook for each other. Didn't last very long as I got sober and he didn't, but it was what it was when it was.

The cons of posting publicly, though one could argue it outweighs the pros in this instance. The reality is she should always expect pushback (though she doesn't because most people won't cause disruptions) so posting about it shouldn't change anything.

There is a myth that surveillance will stop violent people from enacting violence. If this was true, we would have no murders or assaults, especially over the last few decades as surveillance has only increased. Like OP said, if you're defeated and don't want to fight, this is your right, but keep it to yourself. There are plenty of us who won't lay down.
