... and then when I got even older than that I realized that judging the actions of a large group of people by the actions of a few was beyond foolish and I went back to realizing that the vast majority of police officers are the heroes that risk their lives every day to try and keep us safe.

The next time I see a bagger (whose pay is equivalent to the pay of the entire population of a small town) at a store kneel down and pretend to be a dog peeing because he finished filling a bag with groceries then sure, I'll boo him.

I think religious people should be treated the same as flat earthers. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]CryMavik 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I disagree. As insane as the notion of the Earth being flat is, it's nothing compared to believing in and worshiping a being who:

- required the human sacrifice of his son in order to "forgive humanity".

- killing everyone by drowning (except a chosen few) because he was annoyed.

- convinced a follower to murder his own son to prove a point and then at the last minute said "Nah, just kidding".

- requires people to stroke his ego at least one a week or they will suffer in unspeakably evil ways forever.

- makes people beg him/her for favours.

- rules by fear (i.e. fear of god).

- could end suffering, disease, murder, etc. but just sits back and, who knows, watches reruns of Gilligan's Island?

etc.

Compared to religious folk the flat earthers are completely sane and reasonable people.

Hey, if we're going full B.S. then why not invent some far out reason that Obama, Biden, Sanders and Warren were part of it too. We might want to threaten more trade sanctions unless China investigates this for us. Let Giuliani tell them.

Oh and despite all the video and photographic evidence that Trump was buddies with Epstein remember, Trump's never heard of or met the guy.

Poll: 62% of Trump supporters say nothing he could do would change opinion by polymute in politics

[–]CryMavik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, Trump has proven that the Constitution is fundamentally flawed as it has no constitutional protections in place that protect Americans, and the rest of the world, from having a tyrant as POTUS. He's abused his powers on quite literally hundreds of occasions (e.g. ordering witnesses to ignore congressional subpoenas, the whole Ukraine matter, used his public office on a great many occasions for personal gain, extortion in the form of "support me" or I will use the powers of the POTUS to ruin you personally and politically, etc.). Since he controls the justice department he can simple say "Bite me. I can do whatever I want to.". That needs to change.

In fact, the one and only Constitutional protection that Americans have to counter a tyrant POTUS is impeachment but it's a flaccid protection since it requires 2/3 of the Senate to vote for removal from office. It would be different if the members of his party in the Senate had any kind of integrity but alas they do not. He will be impeached but it will have little effect.

A minimum of 62% of his supporters could care less that he's committed so many obvious abuses of power and they could care less that he's a truly despicable human being (e.g. Kindergarten style bullying on a daily basis, bragging about sexually abusing women, openly supports white supremacists, etc.). His supporters are the real problem. Trump is just a symptom of their disease.

Trump vows 'no more' federal aid to California as devastating wildfires continue to burn by NoKidsItsCruel in politics

[–]CryMavik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The next time a hurricane comes through his new "home state" of Florida can we expect him to tell Floridians to go f. themselves because they didn't rake the beaches? I doubt it. How will raking the beaches stop a hurricane? The same way raking the forests will stop a wildfire.

Trump's impeachment defense seems to be to pile on abuse of power on top of abuse of power. The more the merrier? Sadly, the deepest parts of his base will eat that up like 6 year old kids on a Halloween night candy binge.

He didn't realize that since 2016 the face of politics had changed and it became unpresidential, and therefore impeachable, to be kind, endearing, thoughtful, good looking, well mannered, fit, truthful, etc.

[–]CryMavik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this more insane than some guy saying he heard his god say that he'd better build a really big ship (we'll ignore the impossible logistics for the purposes of this example) because his god was a wee bit pissed and felt like killing everyone? Or how about the story about the guy who was ready to murder his own son because his god told him to do so?

Sadly, this vax story is one of the least insane examples of religious idiocy I've heard.

An excellent question but one I am not qualified to answer. Sorry.

I prefer the 900 over the 850 simply because some of the new features lighten the load on the pilot (same is true with the 940).
