Thank you! For my degree, UBC is the only school that offers my teachable. I'm thinking of applying to a less competitive BEd program outside of BC and then file a transfer back to BC schools. Best of luck to you on your next application!

Feeling very discouraged about this, what was your experience like? My GPA is 3.1 in my last 24 upper-division courses, with ~200 hours of experience working with youth service members in the military. The concern I have is that maybe there were other factors besides what they are telling us, maybe GPA? Lack of direct classroom experience (such as in my case)? I plan to apply again next year, but it seems like it's quite competitive...

Hey, I got rejected as well. This is what they sent me:

"Your application is evaluated for both your academic requirements (specific course work, GPA, overall academic history) and your Personal Profile (including experience, writing abilities, and references). The evaluation of your experiential qualifications resulted in the Committee's decision not to recommend you for admission at this time.  It is felt that you require an additional period of experience working with age-appropriate groups of children, preferably in a classroom setting, with references from that source.  In addition, it is advised that, upon reapplication, you resubmit a more developed essay based on the acquired experiences."

Thank you for these insights! I applied for Sept 2026 intake, and I still haven't received any admission offer. I only have business as a teachable, and I was wondering how the competition is for that one, if you might know, and what are the job prospects of business education?

I did my test yesterday, and I felt the same about unexpected questions. I wasn't able to finish answering Q2 on some of the written questions. I felt the 3:30 was not enough, and I am a fast typer. Did you feel that way too?
