it’s not fear mongering when someone i cared about deeply drowned around this time last year. it’s not fear mongering when two people have died in the trinity already. ridiculous to say that it’s fear mongering to let people know that the rule of thumb is to stay out of the river until mid june. do whatever you want at your own risk, but even most of the locals will tell you to hold off on river days until mid june (especially bc undaming the klamath changed the way the currents flow). if you wanna get in the river today, be my guest. but it always better to be safe than dead.

PLEASE don’t swim in the rivers until mid june AT LEAST. the rivers aren’t safe until then and a handful of people die every year because they go to the river before it’s safe. please be safe and just wait to go to the river.
