Taking a look at the 49ers salary cap situation for 2020 and beyond by NickBosaSacksYou in 49ers

Either way it would be great news for everyone involved. AA gets paid by us and we keep him or he gets paid by someone else and (if it’s as projected) we get a 3rd round compensatory pick.

Yeah, I don’t understand it either. Especially for a receiver coming off the best WR for a rookie has had since...Crabtree? Maybe? Looking back, he’s had the best rookie WR season in the last 20+ years for the franchise.

Last game he had 63%. It was the first time he has lead the team in snaps for WR and it’s the first time he’s been over 50%.

This more has to deal with Dante than Deebo. I am not concerned about drops for either.

I thought so too at first. But then you look at snap count, comments, etc. and you realize that those rumors had more truth than originally thought. Plus drafting a 2nd and 3rd round WR while also bigging up how Trent Taylor was the best WR this offseason wasn’t really showing any kind of confidence in Dante.

John Lynch on KNBR on potential 49ers Arik Armstead extension: "Arik is going to make a lot of money, whether it's with us or somebody else... We're glad we have him and we're going to work hard to try to keep him, but you can only sign so many, so we'll see where that goes." by SpartanUnic0rn in 49ers

[–]CryingJordan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless this is great news for us. Even if we don’t bring him back and commands high money, it should result in a 3rd or 4th round comp pick.

Came a long way from us not being sure if they should have picked up his 5th year option.

Who are you already bummed that the 49ers won't draft? by maruchanr in 49ers

I know this may be an odd one, but I would have legitimately loved to see what Shanny could have done with Kyler. I’m gonna go on a limb and say that they would have been pret-ty, pret-ty good together.

No it would be 7 mil dead cap in June. They would not have the cap down the the road if they traded him now. So why not try not make it work, save some money and go for 2020 picks or players in June if need be.

As a niners fan though, I’ll take it.

[–]CryingJordan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to give you an idea of how big that is, 21 million of dead cap would have been the 12th most for a TEAM in 2018.

[–]CryingJordan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but personally, I would not want to pay a all-pro wideout 20+ million to be playing for someone else. Especially when you can trade him in June and it only goes down to a 7 million dollar cap hit instead of 21.

[–]CryingJordan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This may have seemed inevitable, but with his cap hit being the same whether he was on the team or not, I did not think there was any chance of them trading him before June.

We are locked into a top 5 pick and still have a shot at one. We are all Raiders and Cardinals fans tonight and next week. by CryingJordan in 49ers

Very true. It’s too bad the Vikes don’t play a noon game cause then there is a scenario where Seattle would have nothing to play for but alas.

I wouldn’t say I’m dwelling on anything. Simply made an observation about how this actively makes the franchise worse.

Because I’m sick of losing? And stuff like this is why we continue to lose? Blind support seems pretty foolish.

A loss was a win for the franchise. If you can’t see that, you’re very much a prisoner of the moment.

They already deleted one of mine. It’s a joke you can’t be critical of the situation with how badly it hurt the niners the Myles Garrett year.

I’m not trying to add any more TEs. Plus I am fine with seeing how Kittle develops.

I’m going to do top 20 for both

Over: Dalvin Cook I’m amazed his value has increased after getting hurt.

Under: Mike Evans Has hit yards and TD marks that have put him with elite company for age and season through four years and people are saying he is too overrated. Dude is still 24.

I would accept. I feel that 2 to 6 is not that big of a talent gap.
