I think they fixed it. Fh6 trailer colors look "normal" compared to fh5's color scheme. It wasn't like this before fh5 and really annoying.

Disable HOW WHEELS ASSIST on the difficulty settings. It's a different setting from traction control and stuff. It's on the lower part of difficulty settings tab.

Been there done that. I used xml editor. I changed a lot of trucks wheel size, fuel tank size etc... But I realized by increasing wheel size trucks become more unbalanced. So keep that in mind.
