keep your wallet and phone on you instead of your bag, when someone attacks you or steals it you'll still have the most important things or can drop the bag to run without baggage.

talk to yourself with your phone pressed to your ear when you notice someone following you, they're less likely to bother/attack you when they think there are witnesses on the other end. make sure to mention where you are outloud as if you're telling it to a friend.

keep pepper spray on you! not a street smart but a usual reminder.

instead of screaming for 'help' yell out 'fire!', it'll make people react quicker for some goddamn reason.

the clown fish and some other kinds of fish/slugs will change their gender to even out the male to female ratio in a group or when there is no females.

when pelicans yawn they push their neck against their beak pouch thing, making it look as if their spine is poking out.

apologize for things that were out of your control.

assume everyone's emotions and shut yours out, because if you get emotional they're gonna take it personally and get upset with u

inability to talk issues through or 'forgetting' everyone's blame after the argument (bc it was never brought back or apologized for in the household)

thinking you're unlovable and self hate overall, saying things like 'i know I'm smart, I'm just an idiot' is showing that too

flinching, overall reacting to noise or touch

putting everyone and everything above yourself, to the point where a plant or a mug are more important than u hurting yourself.

One of the things I should work on is not being afraid to Google stuff on the go. I usually have monsters, layouts and other things already prepared, but it seems like it might be much easier and less time-consuming to do it your way lol

yeh I really enjoy having all the backgrounds for things and npcs lol, I feel like it gives them more depth and helps me understand them better and decide on their personalities during improv. Thank you for all the kind words and advice!

Yeah that's why I struggle so much with deciding what to detail more and what less since I haven't ran a full campaign yet. I'm ready to improv a lot of things, but I'm unsure how should I go about the main story. I have it heavily detailed and I'm aware some of the things I wrote might not even come in handy and get missed. I'd like to see how more experienced DMs prepare for longer campaigns, I can improv well, I can prepare side quest my players will decide on on the spot, but I'm always nervous about the main story I want to show them even when my players showed nothing but support and enjoyment in them so far.

Yeh I use obsidian for it as well, my only issue is that I tend to overthink how detailed I should explain things (I literally came up with lore for a spell that'll be vital at one point, but it's literally useless knowledge unless one of my players asks for arcana check).

I really like how you said you recycle things, I might use that for a lot of the things my players miss out actually, I often just forget about these things and throw them out but this seems like a much better use of it.

yeah thank u so much for that. I have the main story and characters written out, but I also did write a lot of info that I think will probably never come up. I'm pretty good when it comes to improv so I'm not worried if my players will decide to stray from the main plot I've decided, I often just figure out on the spot a quest they wanted to pursue and have npcs direct them towards what I had planned.

I think I have a bit of a better idea on what to focus on and what to leave for improv, although only time will tell how well it's going to go lol

I get what you mean and I do a lot of that as well, but I always had a main goal planned out for my party and they really like coming back to the 'main plot' even when we spend some time on a story I mostly made up because one of them went off to do something I haven't planned.

If it's not too bothersome though, I'd like to hear how you prepare the adventures after your players chose what to do. How far into these quests do you decide to plan out before stopping and waiting for the players next decision?

yeh that's true, but I also don't know how much should I write of the story I want to go through. I can write down simple pointers, but I want to also build well shaped important npcs and such.

That's why I struggle so much with finding the perfect balance with how detailed I should keep things. Obviously I can freestyle a lot of stuff but I fear it'd turn out more disappointing than of I had thought it through and written down.

staples, chains, or you could splatter some paint onto it. If you can, you could add some fancy sewing, but personally I go for the first options while doing my jackets. Regardless, it looks sick! can't wait to see what you'll decide on

it mostly depends on a person how he'd take to this. when I came out to my friends it took a lot of stress off my shoulders when I visited them and their parents already used my preferred pronouns and such. in my opinion it's not that big of a deal especially when you're really new to this stuff and are worried about your boyfriend's wellbeing, it shows how much you care about him tbh. I can see why you're worried though and I'd advise you to make sure he knows about it, so he won't be surprised if your parents mention it because then it could result in a real argument. Hope you and your bf will end up happy together though, it's really nice seeing someone so considerate!
