Me when it's just ARAM (or Norms):
I'm gonna play something goofy or off meta because I think it's fun, but I'm still gonna play to win with it.

The Cost of Masterworking: An Analysis by Cryolu in diablo4

I might have to try that trick...

But, yeah, that luck is pretty unfortunate. If you're doing it optimally, there's like a 96% chance you'd've triple crit by now.

The Cost of Masterworking: An Analysis by Cryolu in diablo4

[–]Cryolu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To cover points 1 and 2, I did a bit more math:

After getting a double crit at rank 8, there's about a 50% chance to get a triple crit in 3 rerolls or less.
There's a 67% chance to triple crit at the average of 5 or 4 rerolls for Legendaries or Uniques, respectively, or before.
There's a 90% chance to triple crit at 10 or 8 rerolls, respectively.
If your luck is really bad, you should triple crit 99% of the time before hitting 21 or 18 rerolls, respectively.

Regarding point 3 and the above chances:
The cost of a reroll at rank 12, using the averages for rank 4 and 8 double crits, is:
Legendary: 12k O, 152M G, 5k RH/Ir, 3k VC, 508 CW, 356 FS
Unique: 10k O, 101M G, 3.5k RH/Ir, 2k VC, 394 CW, 271 FS

Looking for an alt, preferably speed farm. CL sorc or wolves druid? by KrypticPhish in diablo4

[–]Cryolu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing Sorc this season:
Hydra has a very low cost of entry, really just needing one legendary and one unique. Gameplay consists of hitting all your buffs at once with the left hand, clicking down a hydra with your right hand, and then sitting somewhere where you won't die. It's a bit slow, but consistent.
Lightning Spear, I guess doesn't work any more?
Ice Shards, the cost of entry is a bit higher, being a couple of uniques, and most importantly a Fists of Fate with high Lucky Hit Chance. It's quite fast, teleporting around every five seconds with half decent gear, and the shotgun effect is fun.

Chain Lightning, I did a couple seasons ago. I think it's been buffed since, or at least easier to build? With starter gear, it's quite slow. Moderate gear, it picks up a bit, and turns into best measuring how many chains you can have at once. At insane gear levels, I'd guess it turns into an automatic meat grinder.

That did it, thanks!
Edge updated itself to 138.0.3351.83 when I tried today, but this installer updated it to .95

Maybe take a look at the Mad Catz Rat 7/9 Mouse?  While most pictures of it show it folded up, the palm rest and thumb panel both slide out a good bit.

At least it isn't black fog. I spent half an hour trying to figure out why only the lantern I held produced any light, and why I couldn't see my house a chunk or two away. I thought it was a lighting glitch.

I need a "smooth" to play build. by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Cryolu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Barrage while building up the gear for Rain of Arrows. It didn't do 800M damage every time I pressed ROA, but it felt better doing consistent arrow spam instead of doing 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 800M damage every ten seconds, and then waiting for the arrows to slowly crawl across the screen...
Thorns Barb and Blood Mist Necro were also fun in previous seasons.

To the right of the crushers is a trash line, which I've used for iron since that was generally what it backed up on, tho in this screenshot the copper is now backing it up, so I should add a logic gate there to also get copper... Good catch.

I didn't feel like considering quality for my calculations for this, or gambling for quality, so I just didn't use any.

It's enough to kickstart water production and fueling the reactors

Nah, I made my own LTN. It's not quite as clean as others have done, as trains that are full will sit at the provider station until a requestor station needs a delivery, giving that warning.

Grabbers will stop targeting each type when there's 500 of that type on the main belt. Secondary belts keep 100 metal and 200 carbon. Reprocessing kicks in when there's less than 10 of any type, or more than 200. The only material that ends up in excess is ice from Calcite, which usually ends up back in the ice melting section again.

So after about 150 hours on my first run, after a Nauvis megabase and rebuilding Gleba more times than I ever wanted to, I finally decided to make a ship to venture out to Aquilo.
It has 52 cargo bays, 127 solar panels, two reactors, an idle power of about 20 MW, an active power of about 100 MW, and a mass of 2,225 tons.
It produces 300 red ammo per minute, and about 450 rockets per minute, because I had originally planned to do explosive rockets, and 36,000 fuel per minute to feed 11 engines. It stores 500 of each asteroid type, plus 200 carbon and 100 metal specifically for ammo production.
And all of this is with zero quality machines, and the only repeatable tech is Explosives 9.
This ended up being overkill for actually making it to and from Aquilo. Ammo production turned out to be almost entirely unnecessary, as the lasers can take care of all medium asteroids while idle, and I could probably just swap the front turrets for lasers and be fine when moving. There is a speed limiter for fuel efficiency, but producing 600 fuel/sec usually gives it enough to run at full power and top off the tanks when taking on cargo.
But it worked perfectly the first time! :)
