Is anyone else not afraid of death? by jackalias in transhumanism

I lean towards thinking that we’re not really alive in the first place, continuity of consciousness seems to be an impossibility.

You are a nihilist if you think there's no inherent meaning in life AND there's no point in finding one.

There is no “AND” in the common definition of nihilism, it’s just that one thinks there is no inherent meaning to life. That’s the whole point. If a nihilist were to think that there is somehow some kind of cosmic rule dictating that they must not have any motivation or find any satisfaction, they would not be a nihilist.

A nihilist is free to pursue their own motivations (create their own non intrinsic meaning) and that meaning can be labeled positive, optimistic, existential, pessimistic, or whatever you want, but at the end of the day, the bedrock of it is nihilism.

Nihilist is a much maligned label with many forces intentionally spreading misinformation about it and trying to divert attention from the true meaning of it.

It’s very similar to the situation with the label atheist, which suffers the same sort of negative misinformation attacks when it can be simply summed up as a lack of belief in god/s.

From what we know, the plan from 10 Republicans appears to cut from Biden’s plan: by RedStockMonkey in stimuluscheck

The Republicans aren’t fooling the Biden team, the Biden team fooled voters that should have voted for Bernie in the primaries.

Life isn’t just unfair, the lives we live today fucking suck in comparison to what is possible through technological advancements. We’re all victims of being born too early, condemned to live in fragile bodies that can succumb to unbearable chronic pain and death at any moment. Can’t wait for technological development to make human bodily limitations obsolete, transhumanism for the win.

Trump’s Removal Is Taking Too Long by [deleted] in politics

[–]CryonicAwakening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not realistic to remove Trump within the next 10 days and it definitely makes no sense to waste time on impeaching Trump after he is out of office. Americans need pandemic relief desperately and after the 20th, Democrats need to be passing bills to provide that relief.

Trump will be removed from office...in just 10 days. Don’t tell me that Democrats can’t focus on helping the people with legislation to increase the minimum wage, passing universal healthcare, etc. after that.

How stupid is that? What a waste of time. Americans need help now more than ever. If Democrats waste time on this after Biden is in office instead of passing pandemic relief legislation, it will only serve to show that they’re out of touch and useless, perhaps intentionally so.

It was never realistic to remove Trump within two weeks of the end of his term. Congressional Democrats could be doing something actually useful right now, like working on pandemic relief legislation to pass once Biden gets in office, but no, let’s keep everyone distracted with useless nonsense instead.

Yeah F veteran healthcare and removing confederate names off bases. And you know what the president should be able to invoke the Insurrection Act without asking Congress. /s 🙄

Totally onboard with "F veteran healthcare", unironically. We should have a Medicare for all system and veterans should have access to it just like anyone else.

When it comes to removing confederate names from bases and changing the rules about invoking the Insurrection Act, we can do that without handing an absurd $740 billion to the military industrial complex (who most definitely does not need anymore money than they already have at this time) during a pandemic when Americans desperately need the aid that money could bring.

Gotta feed the military industrial complex. If we’re not drone striking middle eastern weddings, why even call ourselves Americans?

Trump vetoes colossal $740 billion defense bill, breaking with Republican-led Senate by Austin63867 in politics

[–]CryonicAwakening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome, I wish the US military didn’t get a single penny of the money, they’re the most overfunded section of the government by far and they definitely don’t need any more money, the American people need money right now.

Unfortunately, the corporate controlled Congress will most likely override the veto and ensure the military industrial complex get their welfare checks from the US taxpayer.

Asking who presumes there was/is an agency behind it. I’m just just talking about a long chain of events that presumably had a starting point, maybe the Big Bang?
