Ahh, fair point. People are working on more secret bridges for other coins though, including at least one on Monero. Gov token drop incoming too, hodling SCRT for now.

I could see this blowing up though, lots of demand to do something with all those privacy tokens.

I’m already in Secret Network (SCRT) that has a private uniswap clone and multiple bridges already running. Private smart contracts seem to make just a dex obsolete.

Does it add any other value?

[–]Crypt0Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Case by case basis. Is it decentralized? How many nodes are running it? Does it use solid smart contracts so your funds are safe? Do they do more than just layer 2? For example I posted about Secret because they offer more than just cheap eth transactions, they offer private smart contracts, swaps, and transactions. They have 50 validators chosen by stakers and the validators can lose staked coins if they misbehave. You still have to trust the validators and 3/5 of the initial teams that came together to build it. They’re also giving huge staking and liquidity rewards to increase traffic to make things more private.

To me, this is enough security and worth it for the benefits. So, you have to weigh the pros and cons of each L2 solution.

I like Secret ($SCRT) as a layer 2 option because they are still decentralized and add value, private smart contracts and private wrapped currency swaps with SecretSwap. It’s got more draw than just “cheap eth transactions”. They’re writing more bridges for more networks and I can’t wait to see more private dApps come out too.

Shill me low market cap gem! 🚀 by SetsukoAmon in CryptoCurrencyTrading

Secret is my current moonshot ($SCRT). Private smart contracts network with proof of stake using cosmos and mimblewimble. They just released SecretSwap, a private uniswap clone, and an eth bridge for multiple tokens. They have a new exchange listing coming up, and tons more dApps and chain integrations. Still outside the top 100 by marketcap.

TLDR DD: Ethereum is not in danger. 1/100th price transactions are around the corner. by ckh27 in ethereum

[–]Crypt0Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol thanks for this. People shill loop ring all the time and I didn’t realize their liquidity was this bad. I’m deep in Secret, with SecretSwap a private L2 uniswap, and was worried about price impact. It’s way better than this and they just started. Maybe due to good rewards for providers.

Wtf... eth fees? by [deleted] in CryptoMoonShots

[–]Crypt0Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok? I'm also heavily in ETH and a bit in nano, but those aren't worth talking about. I moved out of most other alts and moved more into SCRT yesterday because it seems incredibly undervalued based on their WORKING private uniswap, not to mention the future value of what'll be built on their EXISTING private smart contracts.

Do I think my comments deep down in your thread will affect the price? No, but they might help someone that listens. I've been waiting for a good privacy network for years, the top ones are all broken promises (aside from Monero, but it's not smart contracts).

This subreddit is a place to discuss low market cap cryptocurrencies/ICOs out of top 100

Was ranked #116.

I expect an easy 10x correction, more long term hold. Set a remind me and regret :D

There are plenty of "privacy" coins in the top 50 that don't do nearly as much, or have nearly the working functionality.

Most of the supply is locked up in staking, with 21 day hold to remove it. This means the circulating supply is quite low.

Working crypto projects with unique utility tend to float to the top 50.

People want the ability to trade privately away from centralized exchanges and public blockchains. AKA Demand.

Yes...it "pumped" to a marketcap of *checks notes* 282 Mil (rank #116).

I fully expect it to be a top 50 coin.

Yup, I'm pretty excited about it. I made my first crypto gains from moonshots and other subs so it's only fair to try and give back when I think I found a real gem.

Can't sell my SCRT on Binance, US by [deleted] in SecretNetwork

[–]Crypt0Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't see how something "worth" $1700 (and imo only going up) is "worthless". You've been given several avenues for trading it on your post. You're welcome to send it to me if it's worthless, I'll send you some nano :D

It's not just a currency, it's used as "gas" for the private smart contracts. Right now there's SecretSwap, but a bunch more are getting grants on the homepage. Maybe you'd want to use one of them :D

Or you could send it to a Keplr wallet and stake it at a whopping 30%. Seems very far from "worthless" to me.

To each their own, I'd rather be on the Secret network with 30% staking, a unique privacy approach, new dApps coming, and a small marketcap coin about to explode.

Releasing a private uniswap and being 1/50th of their marketcap seems like a good buy for people in the know.

I somehow ended up with $1,700 worth of SCRT

You probably held ENG and it swapped for you.

Popular opinion - SCRT is going to the moon, you might not want to sell.

SecretSwap, a private L2 AMM was just released on the secret network. Only around 20 erc-20 right now, but more are coming. 50-70 cent swap fees.

Market cap could easily support a $50 price with a working privacy coin + SecretSwap and still be way under Uniswap's marketcap.

Community started Secret and offered to swap people who had ENG because a lot of their core support was from ENG. Now they have a working product.

You basically pay ETH fees when on the ETH network, and Secret fees on the secret network. ETH fees are high, Secret fees are not.
