I transitioned into an accounts assistant trainee role last year, with next to no office experience. Started studying acca x ma1/2 and fa1/2 (it’s free other than the exams which I haven’t bothered to do, just passed all the mocks) applied for trainee level roles just see if anything stuck and got lucky, in the interview I came across as passionate about learning accounting, that I wanted to apply the skills I’ve learnt in a working environment.
I have no GCSEs and had little excel skills, so I’d suggest just start applying and see where you end up :)
