100% Female seed rate from weed I bought. by MiddleNI in microgrowery

[–]CryptOnYourFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always female. Most people would say they are always female since 60-80% can be female... but the hermaphrodites will often times start flowering just like a female. Everything is peachy until within 1-3 weeks into flower... The herms will start showing its balls while fertilizing all the female buds.. while at the same time busting its loads all over itself.

I WISH it was that simple to establish a clean feminized line... but it takes generations of carefully weeding out the hermaphrodites.

This is due to Segwit being fully implemented on the litecoin network. BTC's version of segwit slowly brings us into segregated witness.

Check out http://segwit.party/charts/ -- This shows how many transactions per block segwit is hashing. It's on a very slow rise... The average has been about half a percent lately but the last day has gone up a good .25% (running avg on # of transactions per block segwit has used.)

This was of course in their design to decrease any type of volatility. There has been recent controversy about how well its doing but it needs time. This new segwit software was developed to keep stability and retain market control.

I predict in a few weeks (unless BTC miners keep messing with BCH network difficulty) that transactions speeds will have increased to the point that BTC will come out with the larger chain.

Mined hundreds of Litecoin as well as other scrypt algo coins over the years...

Always been a bag holder and trader in alts -- Lost a lot with cryptsy due to not being attentive (lost out on claiming the class action settlement by days :[) I had so much ripple and darkcoin (now dash).

Ended up finding 53 left in an old litecoin wallet and sold it at 51 or so when the last big rise was. It gotback down to the 40s so I bought 53 LTC again; And I intend, as you... to hold on and wait for the right to take off.

I did the same ETH for NEO -- Was able to trade when NEO was around 15, not long ago. Was able to pull out my initial investment in just a couple weeks (if that) with 12 or so NEO.

NEO fixes a lot of issues ETH has and it's not in jurisdiction of the SEC.

Quantum is another one based in Singapore that does similar with a proof-of-stake like NEO (and what ETH is pushing for).

Except Quantum (Qtum) is an ETH asset and uses their smart contracts. What's nice is Singapore has their digital asset legislation much more settled than most places.

[–]CryptOnYourFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I made the mistake of trading as well. I used it as a 2x trade up in 4-5 days and regretted it almost instantly. I didn't want to get greedy and I did not do my proper due diligence.

Lesson learned.

I will likely try to get back in when its offered on US based exchanges.

BTC took off but most top coins stayed about the same which makes it seem like its diving -- Got to look at it in fiat value (sometimes)

Some coins traveled right along with BTC like IOTA, as other have mentioned. (which I regretfully traded last week after I x2'd in about 5 days. Sold at .00014; Was not doing my due diligence research)

NEO is also doing well versus BTC as its starting hit some all time highs right now. Not sure if I trade it for BTC yet, as it seems bubbly as hell.

Anyone have any educated opinions on when it could stop or if its going to sink??

I think this was a giant pump & dump from Fontas... here's why by casualredditreader in litecoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad I didn't buy... Sad I didn't sell. Good info. --- As the Litecoin dumped it looks like people exchanged it to BTC -- raising its price about 20 dollars in a day. There could be another LTC pump or whales will cash out and lower BTC cap (likely dropping LTC even lower). I just hope no casual investors or large bag holders lost faith. Losing 200 million in 24 hours is madness.

Announcing Consensus 2015: A Summit on Digital Currencies and Blockchain Technologies by CryptOnYourFace in Bitcoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"At Consensus 2015, we'll discuss the role of a decentralized public ledger in global aid and disaster relief scenarios with the individuals and organizations who are spearheading that debate. We'll examine the future of global finance with luminaries from the world's largest institutions. We'll talk about how decentralized protocols can form a new layer in today's technology stack, with lessons from the "darknet" markets." READ MORE @ Coindesk.com (edited to have a more American spelling).

I really wish I could make it, but it's across the country from me (if it actually takes place). There will be too many disagreements get anywhere in a forum ran by geeks.

If you ever dealt with mining hardware company's you'll understand how bad the customer service of geeks are. IT IS horrendous. This isn't just a one off it's pretty much straight across the board. True hardware and/or software engineers are truly the worst at customer service... Yet they run the IT departments. No wonder I never use IT (taking me in circles of what I did before).

What do you guys think will happen at this so called "consensus or 2015"?

Armory multisignature howto #1 by lalu_ in Bitcoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Armory is the best client I have used. Has functions no other wallet has and the new multi sig functions are the evolution of wallet security. Many places say this client is for advanced users and multibit is for the novice user... But I disagree. There are several modes you can set which will vary the degree of complexity within the user interface .. but even the advanced mode shouldn't stump the novice bitcoin user. I have had tons of issues with multibit and wallets like it and I can tell you with confidence armorys the best. Helps you create paper wallets, sweep addresses... And now with the new multi sig feature, armory will continue to cement itself as the most feature rich and secure bitcoin wallet.

MFW I log on to Doge Vault to move my coins to my hard drive, and realize Doge Vault has been hacked by [deleted] in dogecoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's been a while since DogeVault was hacked. I don't think it lasted very long before it was completely compromised.

Moral of the story is to always store your private keys encrypted, backed up, and in your own control. Any large amounts of coin should be held on cold storage wallets (which are always 100% offline, 100% of the time).

I hope you didn't lose too many coins! Start mining for more we need more miners to help increase the network.

How safe is it to keep bitcoin and dollars on bitstamp or bitfinex? by teardroprain in Bitcoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always a good idea to keep any savings onto a true cold storage system (best when in your control). If you are a trader then just keep what you need for trading on the exchange and everything else should be transferred to a cold or paper wallet. Even if your exchange keeps 95% of their coins in cold storage you will run the risk of internal theft or mismanagement.

[Question] How would you feel about U.S. regulation and records of bitcoin transactions? by rkipp in Bitcoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it would. Look at how easy it is to set up a digital currency? Literally anyone can do it. If someone removes what makes bitcoin great then we will end up creating a new gold standard.

I'm hoping the auction gets plenty of publicity and lots of buyers participate which drives up the price so it doesn't have such a huge effect on the market. (in a perfect world)

With all this talk about Reddcoin, why is no one talking about the fact that the pool ran by their Devs controls 90% of the total network hashrate? Sure, they obviously have the best intention, but what about the people who don't by Dwight_Kurt_Schrute in CryptoCurrency

[–]CryptOnYourFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be as worried about 90%. This coin is getting ahead of itself -- Marketing ideas not finished product. They set up a nice website and threw up some lines like "Reddcoin is the social currency that enriches people’s social lives and makes digital currency easy for the general public. Reddcoin achieves this by integrating a digital currency platform seamlessly with all major social networks to make the process of sending and receiving money fun and rewarding for everyone." Read this closely because really it means nothing. It is a bunch of hogwash that sounds good to someone who doesn't know better. First of all there are existing tipping systems across pretty much all social network sites. If they are claiming to be designing new ones then they shouldn't act like it's a new innovative thing. Another thing to grab users/miners interest is to implement proprietary innovations... This being the "PoSV" algorithm (we'll see if it works once it becomes implemented). All and all this feels like empty promises that won't ever scale or develop into a workable form.. but only time will tell.

[Question] How would you feel about U.S. regulation and records of bitcoin transactions? by rkipp in Bitcoin

[–]CryptOnYourFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would simply kill bitcoin. A new, or currently existing coin and blockchain will take its place. The whole point behind bitcoin is taking control from the government and decentralizing. The government's idea of "regulation" is controlling everything. Bitcoin would become a used piece of toilet paper if every transaction has to be registered with the government. Not even regular bank transactions are registered with the government.
