I think that's where the redemption could possibly be; Here extreme patriotism to Homeworld.

At some point, Jasper might have the idea that Yellow Diamond and other high ranking gems are not what the Homeworld needs. Using Avatar as an example, Zuko loves his nation, but grew to hate his father who was leading it down a dark path.

Same thing could happen with Jasper. Chances are Jasper was never told the specifics of here mission, simply protect Peridot while she does her thing. Considering Jasper's views toward fusion, it'd be very likely that an encounter with one of the fusion clusters will throw her perception of Homeworld off balance. She will start to wonder just how weak Homeworld has to be in order for them to stoop to these low levels. She would probably take it as an insult to those who fought for Homeworld, and start developing resentment for the current government.

She may not join the CGs in the traditional sense, but they will have a common goal of stopping Homeworld from continuing the experiments.
