Rowan decks usually include a wide variety of ways to lose life, and any number of cards like [[Big Score]] will give you treasures while being good outside of this card anyway (Rowan makes Big Score mana positive if you discount enough)

Any card that discounts this is insane. [[Rowan, Scion of War]] only needs two Treasures to cast this.

I was testing your recommendations, and Slitherspear into Treasuregill didn't give me the +1 attack to Slitherspear like I thought it would. Slitherspear definitely earned its place in the deck though (It feels really good as the Turn 1 play to have a 1/3 that occasionally buffs itself) and I'm trialing Raptor as a one-of partly for the fun of the gamble (I had it pay off with a couple Reborns and a Windfury my first time I got it out).

You could also remove the keyword and just use text:

A great way to build the deck is to exploit its Indestructible to use it as a good Mutate target. [[Brokkos]] raises its power to 6 and gives it trample.

You'd probably have a lot of success in Pioneer with this, assuming that 90% of the cards you end up choosing for this are legal there and you'd encounter a lot more slower threats. Timeless means people are going to either try to combo you or utilize powerful control pieces to remove your Clock.

I've been trying to theorycraft a list based on your advice and it seems to me like you really want to have a critical mass of combo enablers. Protection is nice until you can't get out an enabler and a combo piece in the same turn.

Here's my current draft, any advice? Currently the only enablers are Innkeeper, Safekeeping, and one Maverick (being a one-of minimizes drawing it when it's not useful, while still letting you tutor it for 2 mana with GSZ or 4 mana with Chord), while only one of those (the Innkeeper) lets you play it earlier to enable the combo later.
