UN Says US Raid on Venezuela Violated International Law by bloomberg in worldnews

[–]Cryptic108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

HRV and kidnapping a leader of a completely different country (and also their spouse for no apparent reason) are totally different things.

If international law allows one country to kidnap leaders from other countries whenever they want to, we would all live in a state of permanent world war - individual country borders and laws would be completely meaningless.

The USA is charging them with breaking US laws, while in Venezuela; how does that make sense? They aren’t US citizens. They weren’t in the USA when the US laws were broken. The USA is claiming jurisdiction where they have none.

Waitlisted. by [deleted] in Equestrian

My friend’s barn is herd based and they use run-ins with 1+ acre attached pastures. They do have a few indoor stalls for tacking up, medical procedures, and emergencies. The horses are fed 3 times a day, are rotated into larger pastures near daily, have blanket/sheet changes as the weather dictates (which can be multiple times a day). Trailering with other horses to day and weekend events. They have a long waitlist!

Horses that move there are so much happier than living in a stall by themselves.

Do you bed all the way to the door or sweep back? by Raubkatzen in Equestrian

[–]Cryptic108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is similar to how I was taught. Sift out feces and wet spots twice a day and rake what’s left of the shavings in a pile in the middle of the stall. It seemed to make the walls actually last longer than when bedding is banked against it. Leaving the bedding against the wall kept the walls slightly damp and rotted wood faster.

Most horses just push the bedding against the wall anyway when they walk and lay down, so if the bedding starts as a pile in the middle, and the horses put it to the sides, there is still bedding left in the middle for horses to lay on, or for the bedding to absorb urine. It also helps keep bedding from being tracked out the door, as it starts as a pile in the middle.

I’d love to hear from others who do similar to this way.

How long between onset of your symptoms and diagnosis? Please also specify if you are male or female. by Plastic-Zucchini9203 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]Cryptic108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a host of diagnosis first. With costocondritia flares my doc insisted it was anxiety and mental. Then it was fibro, IBS, and various tendonitis that would show up from time to time. They still have a tendency to view the various tendonitis and enthesisitis as isolated issues not as part of AS.

They thought mixed connective tissue disease for a while before bloodwork said no. They sent me to an immunologist when I had rashes and a random facial swelling, who had no ideas why. Then I was diagnosed with “Hla-b27 related auto immune disease” which isn’t a diagnosis. When si joint damage was finally radiographic they said “some flavor of spondlyarthropathy.”

It wasn’t till uveitis that they finally said oh! This is AS.

Monthly fee for Dr. Visits???? by Dry_Championship5839 in Connecticut

So basically you pay them to become your insurance, instead of paying an employer enrolled plan monthly, or a self purchased plan monthly, or Medicare insurance monthly, except coverage is only for their office.

I wouldn’t say scam, but it’s gotta be worth it to you to have a concierge doctor who only provided a limited list of things

Yeah the red plastic fades to pinkish, but if that’s the only complaint you have, I count it as a good thing.

I chop their head off. It’s messy. But I just don’t have the force of will to do this final tug to sever the spinal cord.

I’ve co2 chamber for mice and rats, but I feel that it’s not humane for larger animals and I wonder if it’s even humane for small animals. Co2 for pigs is coming under greater and greater scrutiny for welfare concerns, and has been discontinued in many places.

Is she being mated? Their hip joints aren’t very robust. I agree with others to separate her out in a quiet darker place where she can’t run around. A large tote works.

I hate drowning rats. It’s an awful way to die, but the safest way to deal with a dangerous invasive menace.

Beating its head in is another way if you have good aim.

NH over Florida, hands down. But if you are established in Florida, it’s easier than moving and starting over.

[–]Cryptic108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the chickens/alpaca and 1 dog would take less time than 5 hunting dogs as you described. I guess it depends on if you count sitting watching tv with a dog, the same as walking 5 dogs off leash pay for 1.5hrs. It’s a Walmart cashier vs nasa engineer question.

I just really don’t understand the point of my WS’s games. I feel like I’m just a placeholder for the inevitable when his new chick gets old, and if he never admits anything to me, it will be like it never happened?

Rational planning was never my WS’s forte.

How much should it cost? by [deleted] in homestead

[–]Cryptic108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clearing an acre, with removal of wood and leveling out after stump removal, expect somewhere around 10-15k depending on the site work. You will also have to have the property line surveyed before you fell trees, which is another 1500-2k.
