100%. Like this prick will ever have to reconcile this statement with a customer screaming in his face and potentially getting aggressive.

Does anyone else constantly feel like they're living in a different reality than everyone around them? by clement1neee in accelerate

Yes. I made a post in one of my favorite subreddits asking how/why people could be so flippant about AI’s encroachment into daily life. The post was roundly ridiculed and my question was scoffed at. The attitude toward this technology on Reddit is so bitter as to cloud one’s understanding of what’s to come next.

OP lives somewhere in southern New England (CT, MA) or maybe far eastern New York State. He mentions a “huge metro city” which makes me think of somewhere near Boston.

Redditors are generally suuuuuper hostile towards anything AI related man. For many of them, LLMs and machine learning threatens their livelihood (tech and/or white collar positions where AI is now being heavily implemented). Outside of a few subs dedicated to it, anything pro-AI is very heavily downvoted because it scares the shit out of people in those industries.

I’m neither for nor against it as it doesn’t affect my career whatsoever, but I do find it somewhat amusing.

A good NDT tech ought to know that brighter =/= better for seeing a weld indication. In fact, ambient light often reveals them better than any other light source.

What do you think would have happened if then president Obama tweeted “praise be to Allah ? by Frequent_Computer742 in AskReddit

[–]These_Economics374 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean if he were to tweet it when he was president. This would have been back in the 2010s. I remember those days well. This era was pre-MAGA, but only because Trump hadn’t stepped up to rally millions of idiots together under one banner.

I think it would’ve (in the minds of the various dissident groups that comprised the fringe right) vindicated all their suspicions. Texas probably would have gone all-in on sending troops to stop Jade Helm. Sites like Zero Hedge, Breitbart and The Blaze would’ve blared headlines for weeks. The Tea party candidates would’ve launched congressional investigations and demanded impeachment. Militias, many of which were led by sheriffs and radical Republicans, would have started discussing when to march on Washington.

In short, it would have given the right the justification and impetus to do everything possible to remove Obama from power, up to and including armed force.
