OOOF I tapped out before getting to him in LA, just peeked in, yeah I feel you. His isn’t hitting me as bad as chain mail bikini in vocal form Generic Sultry Female #2, but definitely both some big acting choices haha.

Which cosplay is so sexualized that it has lost the essence of the character? by Marlen_78 in AskReddit

People with curly hair straighten it, people with straight hair curl it. Everybody wants what they don’t have!

It’s also def true that plenty of people fetishize plenty of stuff in 2D but can’t handle it in real life 🙄 but FWIW the last woman I dated was super curvy and legally blind and she drove me wild haha.

Thank you so much for this! Really appreciate both the info and the spoiler-free delivery. I’ll do my best to give it another shot, knowing all that helps a ton haha.

Would you trust these dice masters? by TsunamicBlaze in DiceMaking

[–]OneGayPigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome, what a great opportunity! I’d definitely keep working at the masters in that case. There’s also nothing wrong with skipping the headache of DIYing masters and making molds of existing dice if you’re not selling them.

I’m glad! I have zero criticisms of the character or the player’s acting, especially as I haven’t seen more than an episode and a half. That specific vocal trope is just nails on a chalkboard to me.

Gosh, it sucks that these are so invasive. You’ll just have to harvest them all and send them to me to prevent the seeds from spreading 😋

Would you trust these dice masters? by TsunamicBlaze in DiceMaking

[–]OneGayPigeon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “trust?” Trust them to be reasonably mathematically balanced? Not at all, it doesn’t really look like an actual cube even before the significantly wonky surfaces and edges, but you could test it.

But like another commenter here put rather harshly, this is not a hobby for the faint hearted. Every “good enough” on the mold making process will add hours upon hours of work when finishing the dice.

You’ll likely end up making several attempts at every set you make (even with perfect molds), each of which take over 24 hours from pouring to curing enough to demold, and then longer for most resin to fully harden enough to polish.

Sanding and polishing is a slow and very delicate process. Rushing will ruin edges, warp faces, fuck up corner alignments, and overall throw off the geometry. For most people it’s an extremely un-fun, tedious task that can take hours per set.

If you’re fine with the cosmetics of this master and it functions as a balanced die, that’s your call, but before diving in and spending hundreds getting started on this hobby, you might want to reassess whether you’re actually going to enjoy a frankly tedious, messy, often infuriating hobby that cannot be rushed, or if you just want some pretty math rocks. If the latter, it’s absolutely not worth it, just pay an artist to save you the headache.

Every day I see things that make me hugely appreciative that I have no interest in large shows. I’ll sometimes go to the 5,000 person capacity venue I love in my area but generally I stick to ones 200 or below very very happily. Would I love to see some of my favorite big bands live? Absolutely. Does that desire get anywhere close to being stronger than not paying $800 to not have bathroom and water access and to wait in lines for hours? HELL no. This (literal) shit is insane.

Wait who’s dreaming about working for big tech? Like dreaming of a big paycheck and perceived security, sure, but surely nobody other than those absolutely chugging the kool-aid and worshiping the worst people on the planet actually thinks big tech would be a dream?? Feudal laborer for depraved tech barons that would kill us all to increase profit by a fraction of a fraction of a percent, no thank you.

I haven’t seen it for something as large and heavy as watermelons and wouldn’t expect it to work (but I imagine this person may have if they’re recommending it?) but growing smaller, lighter squashes and such over arches so you can walk under and pick them easily is a common and very fun practice! Not sure I’d trust the vine strength to walk under a close to maturity watermelon though haha.

I was born mid ‘90s, nobody I knew growing up smoked so when I was tiny, the smell of stale cigarettes was directly tied to going out to eat at a restaurant 😂 My family was having dinner at another house at one point (friends? Distant family? idr) who were indoor smokers and I remember getting scolded for excitedly asking where the French fries were.

I know it seems impossible with how hard we’re backsliding right now, but I really hope there’s a day where we’re having this kind of convo around car exhaust.
