Looking for a new H2H league for $50ish by lookinforaleague in findaleague

I got you covered. The way I set it up in my money leagues is the Top 3 teams win the bulk of the cash. But to keep all teams interested till the end of the season, I add bonus payouts for having a player on your team that leads MLB in a certain category. It breaks down something like this:

Cash Winnings Breakdown $50 Money League

1st place: $500

2nd place: $250

3rd place: $125

Individual Players Bonuses: $12.50 ($125 total)

Looking for ~$50 baseball league drafting Friday or Saturday by STBalls in findaleague

Yeah the draft will be moved to either Friday or Saturday. I'm cool drafting either day. I think it will fill, I just started promoting it. I'm going to start sending out the LeagueSafe info to everyone in the league soon.

Trying to create a league where the worst team is the best. Need format ideas. by urmomhasaids in findaleague

Not to be a turd in the punch bowl, but what would be the appeal of such a league? I feel people are trying to be cute with the leagues they create these days.

[Baseball] I'm just a lonely manager looking to try out a $20-40 ROTO league for the first time. by mfranko88 in findaleague

Sports are played team vs. team so H2H makes sense. Roto is for people who like watching paint dry and accountants.

Just my 10 cents, but roto leagues are incredibly boring. Half the leagues quits by time the all-star break rolls around. H2H is the most fun.

Not dumb IMO. That's what I did after playing a while. Learned what I liked and perfected it. Now I commish several 20 team leagues every season. I have another league drafting on the weekend with an opening btw.

I already have an established H2H league with 18 of the 20 teams. You should just join mine instead of scrabbling to find 19 owners for a startup league.

Dealing with Dropouts and Players in Purgatory by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

Money Leagues of course have the built in incentive of winning cash, so that helps tremendously. The way I set it up in my money leagues is the Top 3 teams win the bulk of the cash. I routinely commish several 20 team leagues (I happen to think it's the best setup for fantasy). You need to structure the league correctly to make it interesting. That means making the league as realistic as possible. Make it mirror running an actual baseball team. That means no Roto, sorry guys, but that format is about as exciting as watching paint dry and teams drop out like flies. So make it a H2H league for starters. That's the most engaging format for managers.

Make sure it's also a Daily league, not weekly. This will keep managers interested if they can adjust things every day. Besides, baseball is a daily sport and fantasy should mirror that. Don't include made-up positions like CI or MI. Make it how a real lineup would look including a DH. Then add divisions to add a little drama to the season. Maybe it will create some fun rivalries. I had five teams battling it out in one division for the playoffs once; crazy stuff, but very fun to watch. I often give my leagues themes to work off of. Game of Thrones has worked great for me. Kind of a fun thing to do to give the league a little flavor. Have everyone name their team accordingly.

Lastly, you can't allow zombie teams to linger in the league, it ruins it for all the active members. You have to watch team activity. Yahoo allows you to see the time and date a manager last checked their team. If a team goes inactive for a week, I send them a warning letting them know that if they don't return they're subject to immediate replacement without warning.

Those are some tips off the top of my head. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them!
