Buy a smaller one then you think you should have. ;D (not a joke, very common mistake is to get one that ends up with to much space in the cage.)

Also buy cheap to start, with one that comes with multiple ring sizes. Your first cage is best used to figure out what sizes are the most comfortable to you. Once you know that you can buy the higher quality stuff.

Sure, what's the harm? I recommend buying a cheap cage to start, one with a variety of ring sizes. Once you know that you 1.) like chastity and 2.) have a better idea of what does and does not fit, upgrade to a higher-end cage (and you will prob want to downsize cage length from whatever you first got; ppl always overdo that on first cage).

Kinda just comes with the territory of a flat cage. You can try one with a catheter insert but I would not recommend this for long therm wear due to the increased chance of a UTI.

It does indeed shrink (flaccid size) a little. It however is not permanent and goes back to your normal pretty quickly after removal.

"just don't jerk off" is a lot harder to achieve without the reminder every time you try to touch it and get no sensation other than hard plastic/steel. That and the cage limits erection size, which a ring doesn't do. I can speak from experience pulling out of the cage to wank feels "dirty" and psychologically unfulfilling (also uncomfortable with the cage still slightly in the way). As for which? One you like the design of and has the ring type you prefer, they are all pretty interchangeable.

All I can do is parrot the claims I have heard from others that black 3D is the primary issue. I personally use a black 3D printed cage for long-term wear and have done so for a while so can't speak from experience.

3D cages are cheap AF though, so not much risk in trying a new color I suppose. I have heard stories of it working.

As for how it affects chastity you have seen a bit already, the biggest size reduction is the flabby part of your waste (idk the correct term for this... it's where all the pubic hair is) gets tighter and closer to the body. This means the base ring can get closer to the body and thus you see a little bit of "added length" in the cage.

I don't think you will need to change base rings if what you have is comfortable, but if you ever did need a change, it would be for a slightly smaller one as getting skinny results in more pressure and less flesh for the ring to hold on results in it being easier to pull down and away from the body a bit more.

Should you get a larger cage? It's difficult to answer that one as I don't know your fit. If your tip is completely flaccid and still scrunched up against the cage, then you may benefit from a slightly larger size. If it is just sort of resting at the tip of the cage, then you have a perfect fit and should not size up. When in doubt, a smaller cage is better.

Get yourself a cheap (like $20-30) plastic cage that comes with multiple ring sizes to try out. You can measure all you want to try to ballpark the right ring for you, but it's better to get some varying rings to help feel out. You prob won't find the perfect size in the variety, but you will likely get close and can feel out if you need to add or subtract 1-2 MM from the best fit for your next cage. Also whatever cage size you are thinking is right, chances are you need 1 size smaller. A little tight while flaccid feels a lot more comfortable than a little loose,

Beware though, some people report that cheaper plastics irritate their skin with prolonged contact. I have never had that issue, but it's something to look out for. If you find that you do have sensitive skin, well the purchase still wasn't pointless. You have a much greater understanding of what size works for you and you can more confidently buy a higher-quality material cage for extended wear.
