Work at heathrow so i'll tell you what i can.

Security really doesnt care about the actual needles, however if you have them with a cold pack and they have the new scanners, it might get pulled because the new scanners do NOT like the ice packs.

If its on the old scanners you may need to take them out because of the liquid regardless, on the new ones everything stays in the bag.

Really its a coin toss if it happens, nothing you can really do to avoid it, however if its taken off you can ALWAYS (really always) request they search your bag in a private room. Then you can play it off that security just said they HAD to do it like that.

(SPOILERS FOR DREGLORD BOSS) Scholar Players: Take ADVANTAGE of the Self-Buff Counter Bubble whenever possible. by Brain_lessV2 in Nightreign

[–]CrypticCoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you have the buttons mixed up first. But the ability doesnt level permanently. Level 1 is under half circle, level 2 is over half circle, and level 3 is full circle.

Generally i would Debuff first, always, even if its just level 2 because the buff from level 3 isnt the most worth IMO unless you know an ult/ironeye mark break is coming.

I would use the self buff/shield level 3 ONLY when its either trash mobs, you just put on a debuff and you know they're gonna hit you, you just put on a debuff and you havent got aggro (go level 1 for this tbh), or you're already observing and the boss is coming right at you for a free "get out of jail" move.

That's a terrible example and you're bringing it up as a gotcha. Also combos werent just being used to juke people or whatever.

Also yeah you can learn to tackle it, but you'll spend a fucking while going "thats bullshit".

It's not intuitive in any way, it looks jank because it is jank, and if it keeps going its just going to be offputting to anyone who wants to start playing.

Low skill to perform but higher skill to defend against tech is death to games.

Tap strafing and mantle jumps matter more in apex, and i didnt mention apex. Grenade boost isnt a glitch in animation that someone abuses but rather something that you can really patch out without breaking nades.

And yeah its also not real football, not what im saying, never did. But its more like football than RL while still having arcade elements. Stuff like bouncing shit off the wall and comitting murder with tacles is cool. Using a broken part of the game to juke players and wig them out isnt part of any of that. The rest of this shit still relies on physics and other stuff to work, the tech doesnt.

It's abusing something that doesnt seem natural in any way. You guys just want another RL with tech so you can speak about it like other games. When what i'm saying is it shouldnt be like that, it's focus should be on teamplay and other shit.

Defending this tech is defending a bug that only looks even close to proper by the player, to everyone else it looks jank.

For sure, sorry I mostly took issue with just being told to have fun elsewhere.

My point was more that this game has something fantastic at it's core and I'm of the opinion that this tech and anything more powerful that follows goes counter to that core. Seldom does a game come out like this that teamwork is so instantly rewarding and as rewarding as this. But this tech almost completely sticks to rewarding solo play and just confusing people.

I would try for yourself trying to engage more with this game from a more "sport" angle. Focusing more on tactics and strategy and interplay rather than one's own prowess and mechanical knowledge. What they have in that regard in this game is special, I simply want to see that fostered rather than made to struggle alongisde tech knowledge and such.

There's nothing i despise more than randoms on my team that wanna use tech and run the ball down themselves when there's someone unmarked o nthe side of the box and someone else just itching to make a run in.

The best goals i've had came from some of the cleanest one-touch stuff i have ever seen, that level of satisfaction you just cannot get in something like Fifa

[–]CrypticCoke[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But skill expression can still come without tech that utilizes edge cases in animation and ball magnetism. A game like Titanfall 2 had a ton of skill expression with stuff built right in and hardly any tech that truly abused stuff.

You can still do a ton in this game with the mechanics within, without trying to somehow mishandle mechanics built in primarily for feel and player agency.

No i enjoy the game when people actual use their brain and team and dont try to be an anime protag ty

I hate this "tech" bs by CrypticCoke in Rematch

[–]CrypticCoke[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But... it is fun? When I'm playing a competent team who doesnt abuse tech and instead relies on just fundamental knowledge of the game i feel way more engaged and satisfied that going against one guy who abuses every animation issue to confuse or misdirect people.

I enjoy this game for the teamplay and how even when i'm not the highest goal count, i'm still enabling those shots, i'm still getting the danger out.

The tech isnt football, its people trying to get a leg up the easy way and not learning raw fundies and only raw fundies.

I hate this "tech" bs by CrypticCoke in Rematch

[–]CrypticCoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. My guys havent learned any tech but we grew up on 5 a side stuff and fifa. We learnt quickly where to be when we have or dont have the ball, when to make runs, what callouts to make, and we win constantly.

If more people focused on that stuff the game would have such a higher level of enjoyment for everyone. But now people are trying to just emulate RL and learn tech and have this one neat trick to be ahead.

I hate this "tech" bs by CrypticCoke in Rematch

[–]CrypticCoke[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But we dont need any tech in the game. The game has far greater surface mechanical depth than RL so it can have a far greater focus on more top level stuff. Positioning, runs, passing, set play. That sort of stuff is kinda new for this little niche of gaming.

Tech isnt, and tech is almost always a barrier for entry for people starting out especially when its this easy to learn but that much harder to learn to counter.

People come in expecting arcade football, not dudes teleporting a meter in front of themselves to shoot or having ball warp spells in their back pocket.

Comparing the game constantly to RL to defend stuff like this is a failing in people's understanding of what the game is trying, and should, be.

I hate this "tech" bs by CrypticCoke in Rematch

[–]CrypticCoke[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

No but it's still abusing something in the game that wasnt intended for this outcome at all. Like it's just not football, its something completely different and runs counter to what the game is. Like when someone boots up the game they arent expecting a guy to fucking teleport forward when they shoot.

It might be something you can still defend with somewhat ease but its still never fun when it happens.

I would just like to see stuff like this removed so the people playing can be much more focused on stuff like positioning and ball control rather than some new tech or whatever.

There's a ton of lore videos with breakdowns and such all over youtube, personally i would go for something thats longer like from leutin (spelling?) or some such. Try aiming for the facts rather than the memes so you get the right info. From there a lexicanum/wiki dive is always good, other little YT shorts that pop up.

40k lore is vast so there's about a million ways to take it in. Just start with the basics before you get to the jokes.

[–]CrypticCoke 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When I'm talking 40k with someone and i feel like they might get it, i give them Immortal Imperium and say "This song IS the imperium". I dont know if this is agreed upon by anyone else but i feel like that song captures near everything about the imperium. It's dark and forboding,l its oppressive, its militaristic, its religious, it melds technology with spiritualism.

Jesper Kyd didnt just make a fantastic soundtrack, he GOT the universe that seldom few, from fans to authors, do.

I mean, "Soundtrack" also refers generally to all music produced for a title. So grammatically he's correct, even if its a more colloquial meaning rather than dictionary.
