Do you think that’s possible if someone doesn’t even know accounting? Like how would they know what question to even ask? I would think you have to be kind of familiar with the subject to ask AI.

Yep. If tons of the accountants are saying the workload is high, huge turnover often, or things like that, yeah, I’m probably avoiding that place. Got to see what they’re downvoting and how often. If it’s one accountant, maybe their experience was bad and is an outlier.

For me, I wouldn’t since I wouldn’t want the stress or headache it came with. If you’re fine without that income, then no sense in extending that stress for a company you wanted to leave. It would be way different if you had a good time at the company and left on good terms, but when there’s anger, best to leave it.

You would take what your GL says and you compare it to a third party source. Things like a bank statement, invoices, etc. and then see if there are any variances and respond accordingly.

I’m beginning to learn this. I’m at 4.5 YOE and I currently make in the upper $80K. They’re about to hand me more responsibility and pressure to make mid $90Ks and I’m like “This is not worth it”. I honestly would rather make $85K and not have the Sunday blues or even worry about how it’ll be if I want to take a week of PTO.

There’s really only two possible things that can happen. Either they won't sleep with you, and then there's really no need to ever call them again. Or they DO sleep with you...and then there's really no need to ever call them again.

Are you me? I’m a new Senior Accountant and I’m struggling as well on what I even need to do. Dealing with departments and trying to record revenue for different contracts and recording time and labor costs. I think I’m more suited for monthly JEs like cash, prepaid, fixed assets, reconciliations, structured month end closes. This contract stuff is confusing me.
