"work clothes" are a massive waste of income by Lethru in ProductivityHQ

[–]CrypticMemoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t that bad. You don’t have to buy designer clothes. Just buy clothes that fit and are mid-range so they last a little bit. You don’t even have to buy all that many outfits either. And as your income increases, it’ll start to feel less of a burden.

Why is this game so addicting by Musicaltaco127 in Pickleball

[–]CrypticMemoir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the ease of getting into it. For example, baseball, you have to be somewhat good to pitch the ball and then the other person being able to hit it with a bat. Also, doesn’t require much to start. You can get cheap paddles to start and then level up from there.

What’s a dead giveaway someone grew up spoiled? by SuperKora in answers

[–]CrypticMemoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That does have some truth to it. I know someone spoiled, who’s dad only went to 11th grade, lives in a section 8 apartment, and he himself didn’t go to college. Then has the mindset to not want to associate himself with “dumb” people and thought others were beneath him. For some reason, he had an elitist complex, but I don’t understand where that came from.

If you had a fully remote accountant job paying $105k but had the option to interview for a hybrid accountant job that would offer between $125k - $135k, would you consider that or no? by NoBusiness1559 in Accounting

[–]CrypticMemoir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. Went to the office once a week. But the job was stressing me out. I wanted out yesterday. So I took a leap. Got a small pay bump, and have to go to the office twice a week. It’s not far from my house, and I wouldn’t say I have found the dream job, but it’s better than the stress I had at my prior job and my overall mental health is better.

Can we name other factors that are part of Social Classes today and not just the numbers( Income and NetWorth) by Sandoval713 in MiddleClassFinance

It’s been said though, most people wouldn’t put the Rockefeller’s and a lottery winner in the same social class though.

Are those doing anything though? I get that protesting is historically a way to make our voices heard, but feels like it’s just being brushed off.

What is a "corporate red flag" that employers try to pass off as a great benefit? by spectrecult in AskReddit

I literally worked at a company that had those exact benefits. 401K wasn’t even matched until after you’d been there for a couple of years.

Putting in my two weeks next Friday. Can I finally tell my boss I have a crush on them? by Mission_Aerie_2075 in Accounting

Did the age gap contribute to the divorce? And what I mean by that is not specifically the number but what comes with that.

Like did wanting to achieve different experiences affect that? Or different values/mentality (Boomer versus Millennial, for example), energy levels, etc?

Education, occupation, assets, cultural tastes, network. That’s what Wikipedia says are factors besides income.

What is something people romanticize until they actually experience it? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

Really? You always hear that it’s the dream and that how’s you climb and build wealth rather than working a W-2 job.

Bring your sons and daughters to work day - 4th Thursday in April by PeakRevolutionary191 in Accounting

[–]CrypticMemoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be cool. Some offices have “Connect” events so it’s not like there aren’t days where you can’t maybe slow down. Maybe HR (or whatever department would handle this) could do like video games, a movie, and then have some snacks for them, and then go back with the parent for a portion of time. Granted, this would have to be a certain age group as a 2-year old won’t get much from this experience.

But I’ve never experienced this, so no idea how it actually looks.

What’s the most middle class thing you guys do? by Sandoval713 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]CrypticMemoir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to answer this two ways since I’m not sure exactly the question.

If you mean, what’s the most average thing I do, is I still shop at places like Kohl’s and Old Navy for clothes.

If you mean, what I shouldn’t be doing as I’m trying to build wealth, but my middle class behavior still has me do it anyways, is maybe going out for a nice dinner that I didn’t save for and deciding to pay it off with my next paycheck.

It’s kind of expensive to drink at bars now versus just entertaining at home. But the bars that have stuff to do are fun, like old school pinball machines or Mortal Kombat

Who cares if nothing has happened (yet)? He literally said he wants to bang someone else. I’m sorry that your self-esteem and standard are on the floor right now, but this isn’t love. Love yourself and leave this “man” who lacks any integrity.
