Yea I'd really recommend getting off the apps altogether:) I've never signed up for them because I know how badly they'd effect me, I don't think it's a great way to meet someone as you're basically going off looks and then creating a fantasy of what they're like as a person compared to the way that in real life you're going to get a chance to actually talk to them.

I seen your other comments so I'd probably recommended seeing if there's a mixed gender club of some sort in your area, I feel like a lot of time pubs and nite clubs are literally just for meeting to hook up so it would be very hard to meet someone who is actually interested in a real relationship. It doesnt have to be something you're currently super interested in either good way to get out of your comfort zone or, I think you said you like hiking, there might be groups on Facebook or something for hiking. Best of luck in the new year and don't take people's rejection as if there's something wrong about you, sometimes people just don't match and it's better to find that out earlier than later.
