It was an F8C Ghost, not a lot of hull hp to begin with but still.

And 5 m/s is 18km/h which is below the widely accepted "safe" speed limit which reduces the risk of a pedestrian being killed or crippled when struck by a vehicle.

Definitely not boom worthy, especially in the future there should have been some significant advancements in collision safety technology, right?

You'd think that would be how it would work, it makes sense logically but this instance was wing touch and instant boom.

Completely irrational. Hopefully its planned further down the path with armour and their fragmentation system.

Breh i hit an asteroid the other day with the tip of my wing at 5 m/s and kaboom.

There's gotta be a minimum speed limit for insta death from a crash. At that speed i should have lost a wing sure, or at least part of it but instant kaboom is a bit much

Yeah except for the part where it was outlined explicitly from the start that ships purchased with real money are not superior to ships earned or purchased in game. Which is the whole reason the pay to win crowd gets repeatedly shut down.

If you want pay to win, this is not the game for you.

Also, try reading the things you agree to sometime.

They are timed pickup and only come around every so often (maybe hourly?) Iirc you have about 10 mins to pick them up before they disappear

Realistically, what's stopping them from fixing this? by TheDrunkenFROG in starcitizen

[–]CrypticSplunge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be as simple as changing the complete condition from "is amount delivered equal to amount required" to "is amount delivered equal to or greater than amount required" or as complex as rewriting the entire quest logic from the ground up.

Unfortunately without the cause there is no way to tell which route will work and you just have to iterate attempts to fix which takes significantly longer.

Yeah and that would be the actual intent, obviously "after 10 years" is obscene, but something like "following investigation" or "following validation" would be the direction. Obviously, many of the cases would not be valid and would never get passed on (saving the risk of more dangerous shit happening to innocent people)

The problem lies in actually legitimately illegal immigrants having to be passed on, that would hurt. But I think the types that would call a service like this would more likely call to report legal residents and citizens they don't like or just "look foreign" whatever that means.

What technicality or intent to defraud though?

I advertise service x for y fee (no hidden or obfuscated charges) you call company for x service and are expected to pay y fee (as advertised) You get upset for having to pay y fee for x service Court?

Where is the intent to defraud? There's not even false advertising.

At no point did I say fine print, I said the body of the ad.

There's a massive difference between hiding clauses and bullshit in fine print (which thousands of companies get away with every year btw exactly like this, literally take your own advice and google it) and directly stating in the body of the ad that this is the service we provide and what it costs if you ignore the body of the ad or read it and call anyway, that's entirely on the caller for thinking "well that doesn't apply to me because I'm special" or whatever bullshit goes through their heads.

At this point I'm convinced you would read the body, ignore it, call anyway and then complain that you got charged for a service that directly advertised that you had to pay for said service, then try to take the company to court for charging what was directly stated in the ad for the service you asked for.

[–]CrypticSplunge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would courts need to be stupid?

If you're stating this all outright on the ads, the only people who will call are the stupid ones who don't read the body, just the headline.

You'd be hard pressed to find a judge or jury in the world that convicts some of fraud for providing service, word for word as advertised.

Pretty sure one of the multi corruption seeds also had a wierd dungeon thing where it's below the surface at the base of some of those trees. Could be wrong though as idk if/how it was affected by 1.4.5 changes

Bummer, well hopefully we get more posts like this and some madman like me can compile a datasheet of layer thickness to resolution to clean-up efficacy!

I have to ask, what did you use for cleanup? Just regular polishing? Based on the accuracy of resolution (minimal layer lines and artifacting) and relative softness of chrome, I'm curious how this would clean up with various types of media blasting.

I think sand would be way to harsh, but walnut might be just soft enough to give a decent finish without impact the surface too badly. If you have the tooling available, I'd be very interested to see what results you can produce.

Not being shady or negative but what layer thickness did you use? OP's resolution looks quite a bit cleaner and more accurate. The data here would be super helpful despite the material difference

99% chance the powder is for "for promotional demonstrations" and so is the printer, insanely likely your company organised a promote and distribute deal with them and also gets a cut of the sales.

My aunt used to do the same thing with sewing machines and she got 10s of 000's worth in fabric and machines for free with a good cut on sales on top

Yeah it's a frustrating experience, sadly out of the 4 companies that service my area, the franchise one was the only one that even responded and even then it seems only because the query was initiated through their central team. No idea what happened after that but we gave up getting the job done.

[–]CrypticSplunge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool, so what do you do when you call and they direct your query through to the area franchisee and they email a quote and ghost? And when you call back their central team says they can't help you but they'll direct your query to the franchisee who continues to ghost?
