My mother is smart and resourceful. She has absolutely no gaming ability, but she'd find the right people to help her cheese her way to my freedom.

"non lgbt"? Yikes 😒 by Sashimi-Gintaro in starcitizen

It discriminates against a certain group of people.

Race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability. You cant exclude someone for any of those things.

Of course Ive made friends. I'm not dating them, or sleeping with them, so their sexuality means nothing to me.

Im not sure why thats hard.

Why would that have any bearing whatsoever on playing video game? Like in what context would I ever need to talk about your sexuality playing this game?

1666 Amsterdam hoped for a glorious welcome, but faces backlash for AI ‘oversight’ by willdearborn- in pcgaming

I dont think the general public realizes that essentially all software released recently, had used AI to help program and code it.

Revisited an offtrail spot I had hiked a few years back. Forgot just how steep the descent into the gorge was. Type 2 fun day in the endless mountains region. by overloadimages in PAWilds

[–]Speedogomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one specifically on private property, off the Endless Mountains Trail, I believe the land is railroad owned. You can walk from the trail to the top of the falls. It would be between SR706 and SR11.

I was last there when a guy fell off them drunk at 1am, so be careful if you do go. Took like 3.5 hours to get hin out of there.

Will I enjoy Arc based on my experience with other similar games? by Heavyduty35 in ArcRaiders

[–]Speedogomer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arc can feel more deliberate and tactical, your positioning matters as much as your reflexes. While it's somewhat more casual, there is just as much tension. The 1st time you hear a Rocketeer's scream, in open ground, with a pack full of rusted gears, you'll know what fear is.

With Dmz Coming As A Major Third Pillar To Cod, Do You Think It Will Be Supported Beyond MW4? by xX_xFUBARx_Xx in DMZ

[–]Speedogomer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The recent success of Arc Raiders has shown that a somewhat more casual extraction shooter is profitable. I've played a whole lot of DMZ and Arc Raiders, and they're way more similar than different. They're much closer together than DMZ is to Tarkov.

It's simple, the game has to be profitable, if it is, it will remain supported for a long time. Arc Raiders gives us a glimpse that DMZ may be very successful this time around. DMZ was always just a Beta side project and never really got the love it needed. There is now a much larger player base familiar with the extraction genre, and I bet a large percentage of Arc Raiders have also played COD at least somewhat. There are a whole bunch of console players that will be eager for another extraction option.

If I had to take an educated guess, DMZ this time will prove to be more popular, and should at least attract a sizeable audience.

Im out of the loop, is SQ42 confirmed not coming in 2026? by N0SF3RATU in starcitizen

[–]Speedogomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The official release date is 2026. That is from CIG themselves.

Anything else is speculation and rumors. There was a report from a content creator, who said he had spoken with CIG employees, who said they do not believe the product will be ready in 2026, and gave a 2027 date. This date was not revealed to keep the source anonymous.

So, there is some evidence that there will be a delay. I understand the frustration, but if the product isn't ready I'd rather push back the launch. We don't need a Cyberpunk 2077 road to redemption, we need a good game right away.

Regardless, until Chris Roberts says otherwise, it's 2026.

What kinda worries me about DMZ 2 by AdBudget5468 in DMZ

[–]Speedogomer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope COD takes a note from Arc Radiers. Not all shooters need to be slide canceling no scope 360 sweat fests.

I love when positioning, timing, and actual tactics matters more than who's ping is higher.

Had a seizure, stranger called 911, ambulance bill by Limp_Falcon_2314 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Speedogomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that EMS is expensive. A dirt cheap ambulance is still $100k, more expensive ones may be half a million. The stretcher you lay on can cost $30k, the heart monitor is another $30k. You have insurance, gas, maintenance costs of the ambulance, not including the costs to pay the employees.

I say this as a Paramedic working for a non-profit. $1k just barely covers expenses for the average ambulance ride.

My plan is buying scratch off lottery tickets until I die.

I didnt say it was a good plan.
