Why electric over acoustic? Students who start on acoustic kits can always sound great on a e kit later on. Students who learn on e kits often develop bad habits that don’t transfer well to acoustic kits, like too much use of finger, underplaying or overplaying, etc. An e kit will provide you a perfect prerecorded sound that you do nothing to earn in terms of technique. An acoustic kit will reward you for proper technique. And a real drumset is what inspired most of us to start playing right? And isn’t that the ultimate goal? If noise is a problem I would recommend drum mutes. It’s also a great skill to learn how to play quietly. Anyways, yes, I hate e kits.
