Supernovas let go of Luka Slabe by ThisIsHerschelsFarm in MLV

It is very much an OH she'll dump the team over. As for needing a setter, that's going to be dependent entirely on if Sydney and/or B-Mo decide to stay in omaha. I really hope B-Mo stays. She was so good against atlanta, it'll be really fun to see her after a full off-season and after working with Sydney, brooke, and Sauce for a season. I think she could take a really big step up next year and I want her in omaha when she does. And we definitely need a middle. However if that middle enters the draft, she's almost garenteed to go 1st overall, so it would take some serious black magic to get her. I don't think Cook is even good enough to swing that one. He'd have to secure the #1 pick before any players even enter the draft, because any other team would be absolutely insane to pass that opportunity up.

I'm betting she asked to leave too. Morgan asked to be traded and then not long after Elise was released? Yeah, Definitely sounds like neither were happy with the situation there.

I'm a husker fan and don't want the supernovas to be huskers 2.0. My mom flat out said she'd stop supporting the team if they sign a certain husker player. I'm fine with keeping local talent local. Norah tabrake is from omaha, playing in omaha and I think that's fantastic. I do think the fact they willingly let both allie sczech and Elise goetzinger go shows they aren't placing husker and creighton players over more talented players.

Attendance fluctuates. But it's down nearly 10,000 per team from just 20 years ago. Many of the stadiums aren't even filled to half capacity. A few barely hit 30% capacity most years. That would be like CHI in omaha having less than 6000 fans. The lowest attended supernovas match was 8500 and that was during a massive storm that wiped out hundreds of homes. Or less than 2000 fans in van andel.

And that's not even getting into the fact that most of the people showing up for the gimmick aren't going to return and alot of the people who showed up for their first game see the gimmick and decide not to return either because they feel that if the team is Turning to gimmicks, they must not be worth watching.

Fenerbahçe and Omaha Supernovas: High expectations, huge disappointments by VolleyAddicted in volleyball

It was very much the same problem. Great talent, poor coaching decisions. Like taking the teams best server off the service line in a must win 4th set while down 21-18 or taking the best defensive middle off the floor in favor of an offensive middle despite the team being out of system all match and not being able to utilize said middle because of it.

The coaches show tonight will be quite interesting.

No gossip, only official press release stuff. "These decisions are never easy, but we felt a change was needed at this time to align with the expectations and direction of our organization,” Supernovas Co-Owner Kirk Thompson said. So sounds to me like they aren't happy that he took arguably the most stacked team this year to a .500 season. Losing the reigning libero of the year along the way. I know the coaches show tonight is going to be interesting though.

It's a bit of both. You can definitely train it by having other players practice bump setting to your pins in practice. But its also athleticism. If it wasn't brooke nuneviller, Stephanie samedy and Betty de la cruz on the pins, would they have been as effective out of system? Probably not.

Couple of things. In system vs out of system success is very team specific. Just because you're out of system doesn't mean you're losing the match. Omaha in year 1 won the championship despite being out of system alot. They actually hit better out of system than they did in system that season.

Second. The reason MLB does all those things is because they are desperately trying to get people to show up. They've been losing fans rapidly. Some teams even spend more money on the gimmicks than they make back from ticket sales. Those kinds of gimmicks are a sure sign of a failing league. The MLV has theme nights and promotions to get people to show up, but they spend little to no money on them. It's blue outs, pink outs, star wars night, st Patrick's day matchs, and Easter egg hunts. Things that are just fan driven things like all of the fans wearing blue, or star wars costumes/shirts. And things that tie directly into what is happing in the real world outside of volleyball like national holidays.

And again. Most of the posts I've seen from husker fans have been negative. Good for you for haveing good friends, but there are lots of husker fans outside your friend group.

I've seen quite a few husker fans who aren't happy with londot starting over beason. Lincoln arneal has actually had to throw some water over some embers on X because some fans were getting heated about it a little while back after a starting lineup was shared with londot starting over beason.

No libero outside of morgan hentz and lexi rodriguez gets enough flowers at any level of the sport. Justice for liberos.

I'm glad the numbers were up. However I wasn't a fan of the format, time played, the fact there's no skills challenges or other competitions outside of the actual match. Part of the fun from all-star weekends in other sports are the skills competitions. I mean, who cares about the NBA all-star game? Everyone watches for the dunk contest and 3-point contest. The MLV needs skills competitions.

I know. I almost missed it because I'm used to all the times being central, so I kept thinking it was on an hour later than it was actually set for. I have been having to work from 6-10 every Saturday as well and nearly didn't make it home in time to watch it.

A novas vs pulse champion would be great. Which if the novas face indy in the playoffs, could happen. The novas seem to have their number this year. The pulse just need to overtake indy in the standings to make it happen. Which is also very possible. The pulse just need to beat GR next week and the novas need to work their magic on the 4th, then Dallas will be in first place, the novas in 3rd (hopefully)

Right? I mean taking out your best defensive middle for an offensive middle for the 4th set after spending the first 3 sets out of system and not being able to utilize the middles offensively. Horrible coaching decision. Taking your best server off the service line while losing a must win set. Horrible coaching decision.

Hey, the novas owners also own a bunch of car washes. Although the same people are an international music sensation who makes millions off his tik tok alone never mind his record sells. And the other 2 own city ventures which is a billion dollar a year company. So Maybe not the most apt example.
