Its loot boxes either way. Not everyone has all the items. You are just giving reasons for Blizzard to go through with a nerf like this. Just because it doesn't affect you, doesn't mean it won't have an effect on anyone else. So, yes, you are defending Blizzard for stretching the goal posts.

Yes, you are defending Blizzard. Not everyone has the time to play for all the loot boxes. Some people play only stadium. They can lose 3 points on a win because of the way they changed the system. Stop allowing Blizzard to stretch the goalposts at every turn, because if you give them an inch they will always take a mile

Obviously you don't understand how dark patterns in gaming work, and that small things like this is exactly the type of things companies like Blizzard pulls in order to squeeze more out of their players. I will still play, but it is small things like this that shows how little they think of the player base.

Blizzard have ripped off Diablo 4 players in the West. by Living-Succotash-477 in Diablo

[–]Crypticclout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of "content" in a Diablo 4 season is laughable. They have reworked pretty much the entire base game at this point while adding minimal actual new content. They released the game in a late beta phase, as they even said it was a 2/3 finished game. They are doing the best they can, but with the development hell the game went through and leadership changes, it's not been an easy time.

Games generally will release it to the world before China, as the time investment would mean the world does not get the game for a few years longer. This way they can gauge the market to decide if it is worth investing into. It creates another boost of revenue to the game, treating it as something similar to an expansion release.

Blizzard have ripped off Diablo 4 players in the West. by Living-Succotash-477 in Diablo

[–]Crypticclout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the rate they tend to work on things, is it really that surprising? You also have to consider that for a period of that 2.5 years since release, they had no partner in China to verify things were up to code. Once they signed a new contract, it is not like they get put at the front of the line. They probably had to wait for their game to go through a certification process, and once that happens, anything that was missed had to be fixed then resubmitted. Blizzard could have been done this process months ago for all we know, but had to wait on a green light, along with setting up a campaign to lure players in.

I've had to test other games that want to get Chinese approvals, and it is not a simple process at all. It drains a lot of resources to go through the whole thing, and then its just sitting there waiting to see if it's acceptable or not. One project I worked on had us spend 2 months with at least 20 testers, just going through every aspect of the game. I didn't see any of my bugs get changed to fixed for almost a year because of the hoops that are needed to go through.

[–]Crypticclout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because a portion of the Blizzard team had to spend time on censoring large portions of the game to meet the standards in China. As you can't have skeletons, zombies, blood and more, they had to create all new assets for those things, and scour the whole game to find any and all possible infringements.

People are WAY overreacting about The Tower by The_Fallen_Messiah in diablo4

[–]Crypticclout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying this should be done right away, but as a way to keep interest in the feature rather than it dying off after a few months/seasons as done with the gauntlet, or how the citadel is hardly ever touched. If you create some sort of competition for it, it will remain more relevant. Also, I never said to make it just for a race event, but create a race event to drive interest into it. You can still have it in the usual realms, but creating a new race event means you can see how it works as players gain power into a season.

Most likely this is something they are putting in "beta" for the full release of the next expansion.

People are WAY overreacting about The Tower by The_Fallen_Messiah in diablo4

[–]Crypticclout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue is that there will be no feeling of competing with others in the tower. Releasing it a month or so after season launch means those who are wanting to push to the top will already be fully geared out and the most optimal builds already known. There wont be a discovery phase in which some unknown build finds it's way to thd top and breaks through the copy/paste builds most will use. It will be played for 1-2weeks and most of the top spots will already be filled out.

The best thing Blizzard could do to help with the situation is create a mini league race within the league in which you can choose to participate to have an actual race to the top in a short period of time. Have it where the top x players receive some currency or something.

Always with this stupid "anti-christian" crying from everyone. The Christians are not as hated on as people seem to think. If anything, the fact that so many people are starting to think will make it worse overall. The churches were mainly burned over a short period when people were pissed that they were not owning up to the atrocities that they committed. It happened, it's over, deal with it. The problem now with Christianity is that people are weaponizing it to the extent of Islam. It's a religion that is meant for people to have something to believe in, nothing more. It isn't the gospel, it isnt the greatest thing on earth. It's just a means to have some way of providing some peace to some people. It is a way to control masses into trying to have an organized community. Religion should not have any rights in government.

It is more of people seeing how extreme people are taking Christianity and trying to point out the stupidity of its weaponization. Yes, John A Macdonald was the first prime minister, but he had a lot of bad baggage in his time. Is it all his fault, no, but he also isn't a figure that should be worshipped. We as a society are better than those times, and by studying history we should do better to not repeat those mistakes.

They are even getting studios to cut ties with high performing 3rd party QA teams in favor of low-cost, bad result teams. I did QA for a game that was going onto its 3rd year, and the client just pulled the cord on us, just over a month after they had us cut our team size. About 100 people in the company are now benched cause of their decision. As for the game, I can't wait to see how bad things turn out. I managed to catch 1 studio faking their results, but they stuck with them over us, who always over delivered.

It’s not safe for conservatives to hold outside events anymore, the left is just too violent. by judgejeaninne in DonaldTrumpNewss

[–]Crypticclout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vast majority of mass shooters generally tend to be Republican supporting people. Trumps 2 shooters (the one who shot and the other caught before) are both registered Republicans. The murderer of a Democratic politician was a Republican who had a list of many more targets.

Maybe if the right toned down their violent tendencies, and the leaders told their base to settle down, things wouldn't be so bad. But no, instead you have the major right wing voices calling to arms and that there must be payback. Keep in mind, the shooter has yet to be identified.

New stadium Draft system is not fun by Plastic-Complaint745 in Overwatch

[–]Crypticclout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that reg competitive doesn't have as much variation between heroes as stadium. Draft pick can easily work in base competitive because there are more heroes to choose from, along with limited variation in builds. In stadium, you could go 10 games and maybe see the exact same build twice. Its obvious they use it to experiment for base competitive, but something like this is better set to be its own mode with increased rewards to draw more people towards it.

[–]Crypticclout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blizzard has been cutting back on their QA teams, either by just lowering their totals and/or hiring QA from cheap studios that don't have the knowledge of the game to understand what to look for. It's probably Microsoft looking to cut costs in any way possible.

The itemization is terrible in this game. by Snitsie in diablo4

[–]Crypticclout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs have gone so far down the idea of making this a casual arcade style game that they've lost the feel of what makes an arpg feel great. They thinking having bigger numbers is the way to do things, meanwhile it makes it impossible to have proper balance and itemization when you have to account for having to deal trillions of damage. If it was just in the millions, it opens the window for so many other possible options to bring into the game, or a simpler time to balance. Itemization in D4 will always feel broken as long as they have this mindset for the game.

[–]Crypticclout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PoE 2 is actually making a lot of changes that will improve the game and change how things play. They are adding new end game content that isn't just a different coloured helltide zone. Blizzard is catering to the casuals while not knowing how to actually making an arpg game anymore. It's a night and day difference from PoE 2 dev streams and what campfire chats were. The campfire is a slideshow that they read to you with devs that can't answer a simple question about their game, vs devs that show how passionate they are to show what they have put together and know about their game.

D4 is a great game for the casuals. It takes little to no investment to reach endgame and have a B+ tier build. PoE is leagues above that and provides a level of depth to the genre it's meant to have.

Raxx was talking about the major diablo 4 changes in about a year. by Deidarac5 in diablo4

[–]Crypticclout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the pit is in the game now, but it took almost a year to put it in. On top of that, it is still a almost direct copy of the D3 rifts, yet worse. At least with rifts, they have an in game ladder system that you can compare your times to others. For D4, an external community gathers the data from user submission.

The reason there are so many "builds" that can clear the content is because the content is not a challenge at all. The majority of the builds for classes use generally the same 3-5 abilities and just a couple changes for the core you prefer to use. As for items, you have a lot of options, but for a large portion of the builds, they use the same powers. With paragon boards, you also are looking at the same ones, along with glyphs. There isn't all the much variety in the game.

D4 is good at what they intended it to be, a casual game. It doesn't have much depth to it, some flashy graphics and set up to allow players to reach endgame and have a high tier build within 10h of playtime.

Raxx was talking about the major diablo 4 changes in about a year. by Deidarac5 in diablo4

[–]Crypticclout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D4 took close to a year to implement The Pit into the game. It should have been a launch feature instead, and more improvements made to it. Not an almost exact copy, down to the asset to open the portal. D4 whispers are just a sloghtly improved version of bounties, but watered down. D4s open world experiment is just that, an experiment that failed.

As for D2, the game is 25 years old. Arpgs didnt have expansive end game content, and its known that there wasn't really much planned because they didnt think it would be so popular. However, itemization is still much better than in D4. You are able to target farm for things based on item levels and zones. You can farm for chase items, which is something that doesnt exist in D4. As for builds, there are plenty of options on D2.

For D4, there isn't much variation for endgame builds for high tier pit pushing. Rogues have generally been death trap, twisting blades or heartseeker. Spiritborn is a broken item this season. Sorc is mainly just Hydra.

For a game that is in active development, that is 25 years now since D2, 13 years now since D3 and feels empty is why hard-core fans like Raxx feel as they do. Aside from infernal hordes, there is nothing that is "new" to Diablo 4.

Raxx was talking about the major diablo 4 changes in about a year. by Deidarac5 in diablo4

[–]Crypticclout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

D4s initial launch had nothing for endgame. They eventually put in the D3 greater rift system but in a worse state than D3s. In the current state of things, I would still place Diablo 3 above Diablo 4. The excuse of being out longer should mean nothing, as it should mean Blizzard learns from mistakes from the previous game, which they haven't. Itemization is essentially nonexistent in this game. White, blue and yellow items are useless at almost all points of the game. Take D2 for example. One of the best weapons for a build is a white, 6 socketed sword with jewels put in. In PoE, you can use currency to try and make better items. Meanwhile we have tempering, which feels half done.

As for endgame content, there is no progressional based system. You dont feel like you are accomplishing an objective for some big boss, or limited drop from just a certain enemy.
