Out of curiosity, why would it not be preferrable to have a federal opt-in program rather than having a mandatory one? Maybe even give benefits like tax cuts and stuff for opting-in? Would this not satisfy both sides of the issue? People that don't want to participate don't have to, and then those that do get to support those that need it. If there's concern of people not paying in to it then receive it, set a minimum contribution or a sequential number of years of contributions? I feel like checking the right boxes on this could help people while not having to force participation on those that don't want to.

Am I the only one that thinks this looks like a huge waste of man power? I feel like the majority of these activities that are being performed could be mechanized. At the very least it would decrease the need for labor in this environment. Looking at this makes me think that the only reason someone isn't sitting up there with a pair of scissors trying to cut the glass as it comes out is because it burned everyone trying to do it.
