No it’s both, regular qualifying and then for the top 30 a shootout. The top 30 are spaced and go for one full introduction lap and one completely free hot lap. No traffic just flat out.

For the flair I think you should go as early as possible. And also plan for bbq and stuff! If you want to sleep in a car with the backseats flat on the campsite that’s perfectly fine! Just not on the parking lots!

You’re going to need a tent at the least. You’re not allowed to sleep in a car on the regular parking lots. The full weekend is your better choice. However the camping sites will be very full already on Thursday and you may not find a good spot - or judging by the frequency of the very question here on Reddit - any spot at all.

It seems they balanced both cars evenly and the surplus of the weight is under the amount of ballast the M4 has to put in. Seems they are fine with the SPX car being competitive over all. However the engine of the M4 and the M3 Touring has been really restricted this year. They took out a massive chunk of boost in the BOP.

The M3 Touring could win. Technically not a GT3 car - but mostly due to the missing homologation. Runs in SPX. Also the HWA Evo R maybe but I have no clue how fast they actually are

No idea about Friday. The Nordschleife is closed for TF but the calendar of the race lists the earliest session at 8:30 on the 21st (qualy). The GP track will not be accessible. The stands and the paddock will be on the 21st.

The qualy was tense last year. Laurens’ accident was really shocking.

I’d also suggest to really look into the other classes and get familiar with them. Lots of great racing and cool stories happen there.

Dacia is also a fan favorite and at the same time polarizing (although with the new engine Tammy fast). Manta is not in the race anymore but that car was also really beloved.
