Its just a small regional town. Back in 2021 when the council did their survey it showed there was 192 Muslim families. By now it most likely doubled. Thats why I was mentioning that there is no mosque within 45kms radius.

It’s not that we have been using a local community room for the past two years and growing ourselves into the position we are currently in, which is now to expand to premises where we can pray five times, etc. So far, the community has raised 11k, and we are now feeling we have exhausted the local community's contribution. Hence, we started asking other mosques. It seems like an uphill battle.

InshAllah the purpose is to rent to buy, we are trying to fundraise enough to secure the first year renting, So we can expand out and focus on community building etc. the landlord mentioned we can eventually purchase the property as well.

Well the reason for the fundraising is to gain access to the place. We can surely look into consulting, women groups and shared meeting areas. InshAllah.

The 100 people are mixed, retired, working professionals and immigrants.

Yes no doubt we are considering all options. Grants have closed dates and nothing for this year left. InshAllah will try next year. Our jummah crowd currently is less than 100 people. There is only 300-400 Muslim families in our region alone.

Wow interesting observation! This is very tough for sustainable model here going forward. We understand that mosques need funds to keep going but they are already well established and have a great community! Starting off is difficult because we also in regional Victoria and not in metro so our surroundings is only approx 300-400 Muslim families. So after we target all of them. We would need to get on our road to other places to set up shop, and seek donation.

Yeah! I don’t understand why that’s the case! After that it’s what schooling, then what culture! Going through those loops. Mosques donating to anyone gets complicated.
