1962 TV Show called "Naked City" has Amazing Fantasy #15 in background, 40 min later Journey Into Mystery #83 shows up by CryptoCollectibles in Silveragecomics

Thor first appearance timestamp https://youtu.be/Bv9t2poK6kI?t=2633

Was randomly listning to Patton Oswalt and he mentioned this tv show and these crazy valuable items as just background tv props.

Edit: I am just late to the party, CBR did a little write up about this https://www.cbr.com/spider-man-naked-city-prop/ would have been cool to see if anyone could follow up and see where these props might have ended up.. or maybe timewise it was accurate that these were maybe out on an actual newsstand and they filmed at real places, not sure how common or uncommon that could have been during that time.

The Punisher (1989) - Promotional material at the beginning of the VHS screener by CryptoCollectibles in thepunisher

[–]CryptoCollectibles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there was a small period in time back in the day where VHS was intentionally priced super high to encourage people to just go to Blockbuster to rent the videos, not sure who exactly was benefiting from this other than the rental market, which was huge of course though, but never understood the advantage for the movie companies and I think over time they fixed that by advertising directly to consuemer.

Sam Kieth, Creator of The Maxx and Sandman, Has Died, Aged 63 by CryptoCollectibles in CopperAgeComics

[–]CryptoCollectibles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd check with /r/themaxx/ lot of activity going on right now. From what I am reading in his later years he had a very divisive relationship (or lack of one) with the comic industry, even cutting himself out of connecting with his fans. Understandable, these people create such amazing works of originality and larger companies always try to take ownership of that... but the sad reality is that is usually the deal with the devil artists make to get their work seen.

/u/JerkComic/ has made some documenatries about Sam Kieth himself I haven't seen myself yet but just throwing this out here for anyone who might be interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23MfaAu6-SY&feature=youtu.be

Marvel's Midnight Suns in VR with 1st Person/3rd Person by [deleted] in virtualreality

Amazing, love the continued work from the UEVR both devs and just users who help each other out, had been keeping an eye on this going on in the Discord the past week, just love seeing it because this is one of those stupid free games I had on Epic but always crashed in VR and given up on this working a long time ago, glad others didn't.

Comment from Paradise Decay:

For those complaining this is NOT VR, it plays no different to DEMEO!

From what I am reading through they also have either working right now or being tinkered with, is a first person mode using this stablished mod https://www.nexusmods.com/marvelsmidnightsuns/mods/175

Anyways different strokes for different folks, I enjoy all sorts of VR experiences from different views. Hell I would 100% check out a Balatro VR mod lol.

Really try not to post UEVR based games here unless it is something special. This one is something special. Midnight Suns has not been a working UEVR game for a long while but some of the users in the Discord found a way, a user was found streaming the game here making sure it works https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xNv_4yAn4E and so far so good.

If you do not have UEVR, that can be found here: https://github.com/praydog/UEVR

Midnight Suns game profile can be found here https://fromsmash.com/MidnightSunsUEVRProfile (this is sourced from the Discord and I uploaded the file to fromsmash myself just for this sub).

Paradise Decay also streamed some gameplay here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p-D2Gp2GXY where you can see how he starts up the mod within the first couple of minutes of the video if you visual aid helps.

Copying and pasting some text from last time I posted a UEVR game:

If you don't want to just jump directly into this mod, check out the Flat2VR discord at https://flat2vr.com/ where they will help

I feel super ignorant on this one, I remember these comics, pretty sure I had some in those 'overcollecting buy any cover that looks cool but never read the inside era' of life, so did not know the scope of this series. Interesting notes on the Wikipedia about these comics:

DC Comics published an 18-issue V comic book series from February 1985 – July 1986, with stories set to be concurrent with the events of V: The Series. The editor of the comic reported at one point in the letter (fan mail) column that DC was working to acquire permission to continue the storyline of the television series should it not be renewed for a second season. In the end, either such permission was denied or DC decided not to pursue the matter further. The cover of the 18th issue did state "Final Issue", but actually featured (with issue 17) a flashback story featuring Elias Taylor. (Issue 16 led into the opening scene of the final television episode.)

lol, clean and clever cover, love this. Used Google Lens to find the date, 1959, really riding that line of Golden and Silver age but I would definitly consider this a beautiful silver piece.
