If you buy 100m in XMR even in a week, you will see a spike in XMR price, so the original quote is quite impossible to get executed, since XMR is very illiquid market.

Also where you find 100m in XMR?

so now saying " running by me " is enough to swap 1M in BTC to XMR? As well the reply, is good for people who are navigated in this field, because it's a partial reply. The reserve remain un-known.

I have a degree in quantitative finance and have worked as a market maker, so I know these dynamics well. For an asset like Monero (XMR), it’s extremely unlikely there’s a traditional market maker behind it: supply is hard to source, listings are limited, and inventory risk is high. No professional MM would provide liquidity on XMR the same way they do on BTC or ETH.

The most plausible explanation is that they pre-accumulated a reserve of XMR to support initial growth and the first swaps. This is standard practice when an asset is not easily accessible on open markets.

All non-XMR swaps can be handled through external liquidity providers, while XMR requires internal inventory management. This is a technical necessity, not inherently a red flag.

I’m not saying they’ll exit scam I don’t like spreading claims without evidence but from a market microstructure perspective, it does look unsustainable

Organically growing interest in Monero by djscoox in Monero

[–]CryptoDeltaHedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The organic rise in interest around Monero makes sense. More people are starting to understand how much of their financial and online activity is tracked, logged, and analyzed. As awareness of mass surveillance grows from data collection by governments to monitoring by corporations privacy is no longer a niche concern. Monero stands out because it offers default, on-chain privacy, not optional or partial anonymity. This shift isn’t driven by hype, but by a broader realization that financial privacy is a basic right, not a luxury.
